Check Out Katie M.’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie M.

Hi Katie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Thank you so much for inviting me! I’m Katie, @katielovesall on Instagram, and I’m always happy to share. I am a copywriter, content writer, and freelance model based in the Orlando area. My story is definitely one that was in the making since childhood – ups and downs of me becoming and unbecoming who I am which led me where I am today. I’ve always been passionate about writing and art, though the outlet has changed over the years. I used to write and sing; now I write and model. It’s been a nonlinear road for sure, but one that I am happy to have traveled. I lived in Orlando through some of high school and attended Valencia College before earning my degree at WGU. As a mom, earning that degree was tough but worth it. I’m grateful for the family I had around me – especially my partner. We moved to the coast for a bit, then headed up to the Atlanta area so that we could experience seasons. It was wonderful to play in the snow and roam the mountains, but the weather wasn’t the only season I experienced. I had halted my creative outlets for a while after Hurricane Matthew wrecked my physical world, but I picked them back up while living in Georgia out of necessity. It felt wonderful to model and write again and be a part of someone else’s creations. My passion for both had been reignited. My favorite part of writing and modeling is connecting with others. Through writing, I share stories, both my own and someone else’s. Through modeling, I connect small businesses to happy clients and am able to express myself through art. It’s the best of both worlds.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Haha, Is any road smooth? One of my most gripping struggles was one of the least expected. One morning I woke up to my young daughter crying and went to get out of bed. But, instead of getting out and standing up as I always had, I crashed to the floor. I couldn’t sit up; I couldn’t walk. I was helpless. My legs were fine, but the room was spinning out of control, and I physically couldn’t lift myself from the floor. I was in terrible pain. It was terrifying. I underwent months of testing though, due to my age, my insurance denied some of the recommended tests. Apparently, I was too young.

From what I know, I experienced crippling migraines with vertigo that lasted months. Quite honestly, it felt as if it would go on forever. I was so scared, I used to cry randomly because I felt useless – I couldn’t write, I couldn’t work, but most importantly I couldn’t play with my daughter or be there for my family like I’d always been. It crushed me mentally, emotionally, and physically. Slowly, I began to regain a sense of normalcy. No one really knows what happened to me or if it will happen again. But, it sparked in me the need to live my best life. It sounds cliché, but I mean it. And to me, my best life is one with my family where I can help others and create. Where I can live out my passions while being there for others who are doing the same. So, that’s what I do: I write, I model, and I help others live their best lives while enjoying mine.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am truly passionate about writing and enjoy all types. I’ve known I wanted to be a writer since I was a young child. One of my poems was published in Reader’s Digest while I was in elementary school which solidified my calling. I enjoy the challenge that comes with both long-term and short-term projects, so I’ve worked quite a few! I have successfully written various types of writing for multiple businesses: inspirational pieces, social media posts, articles, real estate marketing, SEO copy for web pages, manuals, e-books, blog posts, poetry, emails, and more. I have spoken publicly for several companies and actually enjoyed it! I am looking forward to speaking publicly more this year. As for modeling, I am fortunate to work with incredible photographers who help personalize each photo for the companies I partner with. It’s not easy being a small business during these challenging times, so I am happy to help however I can, be it through my writing or my lifestyle/product modeling. I love the creativity that comes with product and lifestyle modeling. I think most people think of a lightbox with a white background, but it’s so much more! Personalization is key and that is something I offer to every client.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
