Check Out Bri Davidson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bri Davidson.

Hi Bri, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I began learning family photography because I love my family and I love people. When I say I love people, I don’t mean I like to be around people all the time, rather I love to take a deep interest in a person and their story. Photography has always been something that peeked my interest since I was a little girl, I just never pursued it. But, as I began to journey through the ups and downs in marriage, raising children, and life experiences I realized the importance of what we do in our lives today matters for the impact of generations to follow. I learned that my love for people and my interest for photography married together would spark a special passion in my heart.

I decided to start Grace Narrative Photography because I know how messy, mundane, and chaotic everyday life can be. I am a mom of three little ones, currently homeschooling, and married to a wonderful entrepreneurial-minded husband. No need to say that life can be busy and crazy. But that is why I love photography. The photos of my babies as newborns, our family photos, or my maternity photographs always remind me how each season of life, although sometimes hard and chaotic, are filled with grace and purpose.

Now, my passion for photographing families, and their seasons of life, is supporting a ministry that I am currently building called Grace Narrative. This ministry creates a space to build deep, intentional relationships that we can walk alongside one another to grow spiritual and emotionally mature by telling their story confidently to share the goodness of God and the gospel to those around us.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Overall it has been a smooth road. I have completely put my whole trust into the Lord, so I trust him to lead me and provide in all areas of my work. That isn’t to say it has been easy. Like I mentioned, I am a stay at home mom. I have three young kids, one of which is homeschooled and an infant. Navigating and juggling family life and photography has been a learning curve. There are times I feel that I am not adequate or capable to juggle all the plates needing juggling. I want to ensure I am meeting the needs of my family while also putting my passion and heart into my photography and ministry. Not to mention COVID. This has obviously presented its own challenges that so many of us have had to experience. But, I always go back to the scripture in moments of doubt or challenges to overcome, ” His strength is made perfect in my weakness.”

Like I said, overall it has been a smooth road. The Lord has filled my heart with joy. and this business and this ministry are life-giving. I love getting to meet new moms, women, and families. I love seeing the Lord work in big ways- a small family like mine seeing the Lord provide in ways that don’t even make sense just makes me feel so seen and loved. I can’t help but look back on this journey and smile, even through the hardships.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a family lifestyle, maternity, and newborn photographer. Grace Narrative photography is known for its ministry drive and focus. It is also known for its affordable pricing but quality work. I believe that all families and people should have access to the ability to capture such special season that we can never get back, like the fleeting newborn days, and money should never keep anyone from having those keepsakes.

The one thing I am most proud of through all of this is just the continual support from all my friends, and especially my husband. The outpouring of encouragement is a gift that I cherish. I also am just so proud of the way the Lord is using this gift of photography and this ministry to influence my daughter. It is an honor to have the privilege to lead her in this time of trust and God’s provision.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Honestly, I am not sure. I take day by day and trust that the Lord will handle my worries for tomorrow. He has gotten me this far, so I trust him to continue to provide tomorrow, in five years, and even ten!

I do know I have a vision for Grace Narrative Photography and how I want it to grow. So I look forward sharing that with everyone and how it is going to that happen one day in the future!
