Check Out Candace Moore’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Candace Moore.

Hi Candace, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Candace and I’m a local Orlando food, drink, and travel influencer/content creator. I’ve always enjoyed writing and creating in some format and when I discovered Instagram, I knew it was the perfect way to elevate my writing and photography game. I started out as a desserts blogger, blogging for hype Orlando when it was a part of the Orlando Sentinel. From there, I learned how to create a basic website in WordPress and Eat. Drink. Travel. Repeat. was born. I gather inspiration from pretty food, drinks, and pretty places focusing heavily on the best spots in central Florida (and beyond) to find these things!

In 2016, my gynecologist found a tumor in my uterus. I battled my way through uterine cancer for 3 years, finally making the decision to have a total hysterectomy (leaving my ovaries) in 2019 to have the tumor removed because none of my treatments were working. I was completely heartbroken after my hysterectomy because I wouldn’t be able to fulfill my dream of becoming a mom naturally. I sunk into a deep depression and let my Instagram, blog, and creative outlets fall to the wayside. Eventually, I was able to pull myself out of it with the help and support of my now-husband, friends, and family. I’m grateful to say I have been cancer-free for almost 3 years! My husband and I are currently on a journey to adopt from the foster care system and I’ve jumped back into one of the things that makes me feel alive…exploring new places while trying different foods and drinks and then documenting it on my blog and Instagram.

Late last year, Eat. Drink. Travel. Repeat. blew up (in a good way) and I’ve gotten many opportunities to work with different brands and restaurants in Florida and other states/countries all while fueling my passion for food, drink, and traveling. I’ve been able to do some pretty cool things because of the content I’ve created and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities that come my way through growing Eat. Drink. Travel. Repeat, But I don’t always feel like creating content, and that’s okay! We all have off days and creativity tends to ebb and flow. At the end of the day, I am doing what I love when I feel inspired and that is what matters most to me. I also feel that is when I put out my best and most authentic content!

Most people think that it’s easy to take a photo, edit it, throw it on Instagram and you’re done. It’s definitely not that easy. It takes time (a heck of a lot of time) to scout out locations, gets the perfect shot and then take the time to edit it and write a captivating caption. For a good portion of the photos on my Instagram, I have to reach out to brands, negotiate contract terms and often reshoot or resubmit my content to their liking. Reaching out to a brand is scary, especially when my following is still fairly small. No one likes rejection or having to be told that their content isn’t good enough and to do it over.

When I’m shooting food content, the camera always eats first. If my husband is with me, he tends to get annoyed when I’m trying to get the perfect shot of our food and all he wants to do is eat before everything is ice cold. For people who aren’t interested in content creation or social media, like my husband, don’t understand that I can’t just take one photo and be done. Content creation is an art I am constantly trying to perfect, even if it means my husband has to eat a cold meal!

My current obstacle is learning Instagram Reels. I am not someone who enjoys talking to the camera, but I am slowly learning to be comfortable in front of it and have created a few reels already with just voiceovers. It’s a start! All that aside, I really enjoy what I do and I hope that my Instagram and blog will add some happiness or inspiration to your day!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I actually work a full-time job for a financial services company. Although I really love my job, my ultimate goal is to make content creation my career. My work can be found on my IG and TikTok @eatdrinktravelrepeatblog or at My content is a bright mix of food, drink, and pretty places I’ve traveled to. At the moment, I am focused on summer fun in the Sunshine State, so you’ll see a lot of beach/pool/resort content.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I like many things in life…food, pretty drinks, and aesthetic places. That is why I created Eat. Drink. Travel. Repeat. It’s a wonderful combination of all my favorite things! I also really love Orlando and Florida. There is always something in this beautiful state that inspires me! There isn’t a lot I dislike, but I could name a few things: beets, humidity, Orlando traffic (if you know, you know), and Tom Brady.
