Today we’d like to introduce you to Venessa Drai.

Hi Venessa, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started this business April of 2020 during the Covid 19 lockdown. Like most people in Orlando, I was furlough from my work and I was at home spending time with my loved ones until I started to get bored. There was not much to do. All the home projects I had pending were completed. Not much to see in Netflix, nowhere to go, nothing to do. In the midst of the situations happening, I learned in the past that even bad moments can become good opportunities, As I started to research my possibilities, I received a phone call from my brother in Miami. He had been a Matterport provider since 2017 and I had seen his work but it never occurred to me to do 3D Virtual Tours. He told me he was very busy doing tours like never before. He offered me to join him in the company and open in Orlando and so I did. This whole 3D business made sense more than ever. The pandemic turned into the perfect moment. With everything in lockdown, realtors needed to continue showing the houses and 3D tours allowed that. As soon as I hung up, I bought a Camera Pro 2 with Matterport and I established my itourvista Orlando LLC and this is how my company was born. Why? Because I was tired of making money for someone else’s pocket and because I wanted to be my own boss.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A smooth road? not really. As I started the business with the help of my sister, we called all the real estate friends we knew. I landed several good projects. I was doing apartments, houses and commercial properties. Selling my product was not a problem but finding more prospects became a challenge. At first, I started sending emails like crazy to all the realtors in Orlando and never got a response. Then my social media was not getting any attention either. I opened so many new accounts and I did not see any results. What was I doing wrong? I realize now I was clueless when it came to marketing. For a moment when my old job called me back, I was a bit hesitant about returning. I am not going to lie and say I was very successful and I was making a lot of money. I was broke but without debt. I had already spent my savings in buying all the equipment and all the money I made was to pay the investment, so I was tempted to leave my business as a part-time job.

One day I joined a Facebook group of Matterport providers like myself. The group changed my point of view. I saw the potential of my services with a broader view. I saw projects that were amazing and little by little, I fell in love with the idea and became obsessed with the potential of my services. My mentality completely changed. I did not just purchase a camera, I established a new career. I realized I had to accept all the challenges and, like Jim Rohn said, “Don’t wish it was easier, wish you were better.” I embrace those words all the time. The money situation was tight but my passion for this new career was bigger. Therefore, I decided not to take any more shortcuts. My mistakes became very costly to afford making more. Probably the biggest mistake I made was my website. To save a few bucks, I ended up hiring the wrong people to do it and the results were terrible. It was time to learn about marketing and I was going to learn by myself. Thanks to technology today, everything I needed to learn was to be found on the internet. I spent months researching, listening to audible books and I spent hours reading blogs. I studied dozens of websites about the competition. I figure out strategies from the pros in the industry and I learned a lot from Google. This went on for six months intensively until I felt I was a bit more prepared. It was all a matter of learning how to establish the presence of my business out there in the search. If I did all this correctly, I could generate organic leads from the internet and I did not have to be knocking doors all day. That was the plan.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work is to provide the marketing tools that a 3D virtual tour offers. Our packages comes with three month (cloud) Matterport hosting, a Branded Link, an Unbranded Link and an Embed Web Link, includes Business Name, Website, High-Quality Walkthrough, 3D Dollhouse View, Floor Plan, Mattertags-with explanatory text, links and videos and 45-50 4K Photos. I use the Matterport software to do this. My equipment is very simple, all I need is my iPad, a tripod and my pro 2 Camera. This camera, the Pro 2, is a three-dimensional camera system. When I scan a place, it captures and connects rooms to create true-to-life interactive 3D models of the space. The software allows users to maximize this tool to capture imagery, collect measurements and process data to create, edit and share a 3D tour of your location. By creating a Virtual tour of a space, it can be shared in social media, in websites allowing people to access the entire space as if they were there! Other tools include mattertags with important information like links to websites, menus, Youtube, Facebook to mention a few and thus creating more sticky content, which is great from their business presence on the internet.

Since I am a small business, my services are very personalized. I like guiding my clients towards getting the most out of my product. I don’t just go a shoot with my camera, I like to show them how a 3D tour can help their business or sell houses faster. I like educating my clients about the opportunities 3D virtual offer and the impact it has in Google. Benefits like uploading an entire establishment into Google street view. I like to show what good quality pictures do in their Google My Business account and their website and social media. Over 100 tours later and all my research has made me a good expert in understanding the benefits of my services to all the industries. My services are good for Real Estate, Home improvement, Furnishing, Decor, Property Insurance, Real Estate Management, Construction, Restaurants, Hotels & Vacation Rentals, Retail Space Planning, Forensics and more.

How do you think about happiness?
Nine months later, I look at my life and I see a great difference. I am finally working for myself. I am my own boss. I have become smarter in my field and I strive everyday to accomplish more. I am getting leads for more jobs. I have completed over 100 virtual tours and I work at my own schedule. My equipment fits in a suitcase and I can do 3D virtual tours wherever I travel (another passion of mine). I love that I can help others reach their success, and since I love what I do, it feels like I am not working anymore.
