Community Highlights: Meet Cristina Hutchek of The Homeworthy Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cristina Hutchek.

Hi Cristina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Thanks for having me!  A little bit about my background, I graduated from UCF with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and was working full-time in Special Needs Education. I was planning to obtain my Masters in Occupational Therapy, but things never go as planned, do they? I was introduced to a great role on the business side of the Education industry, which eventually led me into a role on the Leadership Team at Keller Williams Realty in Lake Nona. Over the course of 5 years, I trained and helped hundreds of agents grow their businesses. I always had a knack for connecting with people and making things simple for them and it was in this role that I grew a passion for Real Estate. I absorbed every single training and conference I went to, I learned from some of the top-ranking Realtors in the nation, listened to their stories, the mistakes they made, and the decisions that set them apart and I just soaked it all in. The next natural step was to apply the skills I had used to help others grow their businesses and become a full-time Realtor and focus on my own business. My first year as a Realtor, I helped over 20 families, ranked in the Top 20% in my office of over 200 agents, earned Rookie of the Year and the following year ranked in the Top 10%. I took a leap, had no Plan B, and never looked back. Best decision I ever made!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
From the outside looking in, we make things as smooth as possible, the ultimate goal is for my customers to feel as though it was an effortless process. The reality is that in Real Estate, you learn to work with a variety of variables, strong personalities, tons of rejection, managing customer emotions, constantly staying on top of market data, understanding your contracts, customer service, not to mention there are about 500 tasks associated with a single Real Estate transaction and several people coordinating in the background to get the job done. It can be overwhelming to manage at first and there have been many times where tears were shed at the end of the day, but here’s the thing, when you learn to work through those obstacles, little by little you can put measures in place to lessen the blow. Things become a bit easier and you are able to really focus on creating a happy ending for a family in need and that is the part of the business that I show up for every day.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Homeworthy Group?
I created the Homeworthy Group because in my role I speak to tens and sometimes hundreds of people a day and there are passing comments I always hear… Oh I want to sell my home, we need more space…but the market…or I want my kids to have stability or a yard to play in, but I don’t have good credit… or I want to make an investment, but I’m afraid of making a mistake. One day, I spoke to a young couple who kept saying that they never felt anything they did was good enough. They work hard, but they can never save enough or have too much debt. They told me that they felt worthless, and it was absolutely heartbreaking to hear them say those words. So, I explained that the reality is that these things do take time and we started an accountability plan every month they send me what debts they’ve paid down, how much they have been able to save, and I just keep them encouraged through the process if it takes 1 year or 5 years to accomplish, people just need to know that they have someone on their side rooting for them and that’s what The Homeworthy Group is about. Our motto is that everyone is worthy of a safe space, everyone is worthy of building wealth, everyone is worthy of upgrades, everyone is worthy of their dream home. Everyone is Home Worthy! Whether my customers want to purchase a $10 Million estate or a $100,000 condo, they are all worthy of achieving their goal.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I am an Orlando native, so I have seen its tremendous growth over the past 37 years firsthand. From the bottom of my heart, I love this city. You can always find something to do, you’re never more than 2 hours from a beach or spring, you have tons of outdoor spaces to enjoy, the food and entertainment industries have never been better in the area and are constantly improving. The culture in the city has become something really beautiful and I hope we can continue to cultivate an inclusive environment with the growth of our city. My least favorite part of our city can be summed up into one word. Traffic lol. Need I say more?
