Community Highlights: Meet Jomar Concepcion

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jomar Concepcion.  

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello everyone! My story goes a little something like this. First and foremost, I am a proud father of three children. They are my world and the reason I get up every day and chase my dreams. In January of 2020, my girlfriend and I took a huge leap of faith. We both grew up in the Panama City Beach, FL area and decided it was time for a change. Little did we know that the whole world was about 8 weeks away from a HUGE change as well! We moved to Central Florida because we just knew that this area had so much to offer, and the opportunities to further our futures were virtually limitless. Two months after moving down, the world shut down. I spent weeks furloughed from my job, wondering what the future would look like. At first, it was a scary time. There was so much uncertainty both personally and around the world. I felt lost at first. Little did I know that this would become the most transformational period of my life! I found a stronger will than ever within myself to never face this type of uncertainty again. I decided it was time to take charge of my life and chase both of my passions, real estate and music production. Music has always been a big part of my life. One of my roommates in college was a DJ and began to teach me how to DJ, but shortly after he passed away. RIP David Hopkins. I decided then that I would forever honor him and remember him by continuing his mission of spreading good music, good vibes, and making people DANCE! This has led me down so many different paths that have been rewarding in many different ways. Today I am a part of an electronic dance music duo named Hit or Miss that focuses on producing future house music. Check us out on Spotify or any other streaming platform you prefer! The other huge impact in my life was moving here and being furloughed. I spent about 7 years in the timeshare industry and was comfortable. COVID pushed me out of my comfort zone, and I decided to pursue real estate let me tell you, it was really uncomfortable at first. I was in a new city with very few friends, no family, and no affiliations with any organizations and we couldn’t just go and network freely without massive restrictions. It was painful, but it was the period in my life where I can honestly say I grew the most as a person. After becoming a realtor my family’s life has changed for the better. Aside from the financial benefits, his industry has given me the freedom to own my time and do things on my schedule. That freedom has given me time to grow as an individual, to grow my relationships with my family, to grow my music career, and so much more! Shoutout to Carlos German and his team for everything they have done to help me become the realtor I am today. I sell houses and produce house music, so if it has anything to do with HOUSE, I’m the guy to call! 

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, but no one is right! My biggest challenges with real estate have been scaling my business. It’s very competitive out there. Gaining new clients and maintaining them is a challenge many of us realtors face. Systems and consistency have made it easier as time passes by. Musically my biggest challenge has always been networking. As I mentioned before, I have a family and am not able/willing to go out at night as often as needed to network with venue owners and promoters. Since moving to the Orlando area this has been one of my biggest challenges, and of course, COVID didn’t help there either!

I am known for being a friendly realtor who is aggressive and will do whatever it takes to take care of my client’s best interests. I have had the honor to work with many investors and have learned a lot about what it takes to purchase and run a successful investment property. The one thing I am most proud of is that I do not let money/commissions get in the way of my client’s best interests. 

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out.
Consistency is the key. If you don’t put your best foot forward every single day, you cannot expect to reap great rewards. You have to work hard and be mentally tough when you first start because in this industry it takes time for your efforts to be rewarded.
