Community Highlights: Meet Nikki Salomon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Salomon.

Hi Nikki, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In 1999, I made the decision to switch careers from Project Management in the Tradeshow industry to Massage Therapy. Five years after that, I went through a massive life change, got divorced, became a single mom, and attempted to rebuild my life with very little resources at my disposal. At that time, I recognized that I also suffered from Complex Trauma in childhood. I pursued many healing modalities for my own recovery. In that process, I became passionate about assisting others with their own recovery from trauma, and I now include many of the protocols in my office that supported me in my healing journey. I now offer massage therapy, life coaching, energy medicine, cranial therapy and bioenergetic methods.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Over the years, I have faced multiple obstacles; recession, COVID, transitioning from having a part time practice to full-time practice and learning how to successfully be self-employed, all while following my passion and what I feel my purpose work is!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Nikki Salomon, Licensed Massage Therapy?
My office is incredibly unique because the focus of my work is not exclusively massaging therapy but rather recovering the whole self from trauma or life challenges to feel grounded, whole and well in your own body! This requires an integrative approach of utilizing techniques that address the physical, mental and emotional ways trauma is stored in the body and affects our day to day life, often without knowing that trauma is a “program” running in the background of our decision-making process. Many of my clients experience an immediate sense of relief when they enter my office; the energy I work with is transparent, authentic, and genuinely concerned for creating safe space and healing for all of my clients. Yes, you will leave feeling relaxed, but more importantly, feeling reconnected with self and grounded. I am committed to being a consistent, stable, and compassionate member of my client’s support team in whatever they seek to achieve.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My husband deserves an incredible amount of credit for his support in my career. He teaches the massage therapy program for Orange Technical Institute and has also been an advanced massage therapist for over 20 years. He has mentored me in many of the medical aspects of what I provide. And credit always goes to every single client, who are also my teachers. Without them, I would not continue to be challenged and grow.
