Hi Pallavi, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have been a Spine Specialist for over 15 years. I worked with a traditional orthopedic facility for more than eight years but got tired of not being able to help my clients in a long-lasting, meaningful way. I left that company since they did not support my expanding into Regenerative/Stem Cell Therapy. I went to another company in Atlanta and started treating patients this way with amazing results. After a couple of years, I decided that I would like to start my own company and treat patients the way that I felt they deserved.
As you know in traditional medicine, there is no time to give to patients since insurance reimbursements have dropped and the patients never get heard with only a few minutes with the doctor. I wanted to spend the time and get to know the patients and get them better in a meaningful way for the long term. This is why we started our company three years ago.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As with any new practices, we have definitely had some bumps. We had to make several changes along the way, but we have found our groove now. What you envision and what really happens in business is often different. But we are succeeding in making the practice about our clients and getting them better for the long term!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine for Spine as well as bone, muscle and joint. I am known for my expertise in this area as well a Spine treatments. I am most proud that I can get patients better for the long term and back to the activities they love whether that is sports or general daily activities. What sets me apart from the others is that I take the time to listen to patients in what they need help with. The patient and I come up with a treatment plan together that will meet their needs. I also have done over 19,000 spine procedures alone over my many years as a spine specialist.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Have an idea of what you would like your practice to look like, however, also be flexible in that plan so that you can succeed. Make sure to make good connections and treat patients and referral sources well so that you have a great reputation. I wish I knew it would take this long with multiple changes to the process.
