Conversations with Sarah Ferguson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Ferguson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
While I was accompanying my husband on a photoshoot, I was scrolling through social media and found a video of a girl who does pop-up picnics in San Francisco. I thought it was a cool concept. So, I looked up a few other ones and saw that a lot of them were Boho-themed. I love boho but I love Halloween more. I showed my husband the video and said, ‘that but Halloween’…He liked my idea and off we went. I wanted to create an elegant but spooky offering for my fellow Halloween-loving individuals. And I really think we captured that in Eerie Outings.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We both work full-time, and I am in school working on my Master’s Degree. When we started working on the idea, I was on break from school, and we were both on vacation from work. So once work and school started up again, balancing work, school, life, and starting a business has been extremely exhausting. But has also been so worth it!!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Eerie Outings is a spooky-themed pop-up picnic business. We specialize in providing a stress-free spooky picnic experience. We help you select the perfect spot for your occasion. We get there early and set up everything, including a coffin-shaped charcuterie board and sparkling waters. Once the picnic is complete, we come back and take everything down. All you need to do is show up and have a devilishly good time. We are different from all the other pop-up picnics because we cater to those who also love all things eerie and spooky. All of this is possible because of the partnerships we have made along the way. All our partnerships are with those who have lost their jobs here in the Orlando area and started other businesses to help support themselves.

What matters most to you?
I love to make people happy, and I love to share my love of Halloween with others. Providing a spooky but elegant experience that is stress-free helps fulfill both of those!
