Conversations with Ashley Kinney

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Kinney.

Hi Ashley, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello! My name is Ashley, and I am 29 years old. I am married to my best friend of 3 years, and we have two amazing little boys! Before I started college, I was told by many people the amount of college debt they were in and how long it would take them to pay off debt. That sounded like a nightmare, so at a young age (whatever the legal age limit to work is), I started working.

I was working at least two jobs, and at times I was working 4 jobs just to pay my way through college and stay out of debt. I remember when I would wake up around 5 am to go to work in the morning nannying 3 children, drop them off at school then go to my day job as a receptionist. After work, I would go work as a hostess or server, and on the weekends, I would sell my handmade bracelets at the local shop or farmers’ market. I’ve learned many skills and experienced a lot good and bad things along the way. I quickly began to realize how important it is to be financially and mentally stable.

Fast forwarding to now, I have been working for a corporation for the last 8 years in Customer Success, all due to my stepdad, Mark. I have been involved with this business by building and leading our customer success team. Customer focus and serving my team/customers is a huge part of my life.

A leader in my life once told me that if your team can function without you, you have done a great job. I’ve built processes and implemented automation tools to help ensure a successful onboarding experience for our customers, and it’s something I’m proud to share! Other than working for this corporation, I have owned a couple businesses on the side, and I am also one year into partnering with a social media networking company, MONAT that I dearly love! The community with this company is very inspiring and teaches me new things every day! I am a big believer in working smarter, not harder as well as having multiple streams of income to help prepare yourself for any situation. I am still on this journey in life, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

It’s my goal in life to change people’s lives and show them their top potential as individuals. I hope to inspire others and show them nothing can stop you from achieving your dreams but yourself!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Life is a roller coaster! It’s easy and it’s hard but having the right support, people, and positivity have helped me along the way. I have struggled with some deep issues in my past that I am still recovering from, but I always stay grateful, thankful & positive and that’s what keeps me going. My advice for anyone struggling, ask for help. Take care of yourself physically and mentally.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I work for a company called Emerson as a Customer Success Program Manager, Cold Chain business. I am currently developing, designing, and distributing processes for our customers’ onboarding journey. I have been with the business for about 8 years. At the time of my hiring, the business was a startup, and about 6 years ago Emerson acquired us. I am proud to say I have built a team that is centered around customer focus and collaboration. We focus on ensuring our customers have a smooth onboarding experience and feel supported as a customer of ours. As a leader, I would say my leadership style is focused around my team and people. I feel it’s extremely important that your team feels part of the family and that you care. I’m a big believer in teamwork and enabling them to deliver results!

I am also partnered with a company called MONAT! It’s a social media networking company that is centered around community, modern nature, family, and gratitude! We are successful when we help others be successful. I am always helping woman show their true self and help them unlock their potential by finding the perfect beauty products that works for them.

These companies have helped inspire me to become a better version of myself and gave me the confidence to achieve any goal I set for myself in life.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson in life I have learned is to be grateful. Be grateful for your family, the people you have around you, the lessons you have learned, and the experiences the lord has put you through. This is your rollercoaster; bucket up, put your hands up and enjoy the ride!
