Conversations with Chantel Garcia-Crespo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chantel Garcia-Crespo.

Hi Chantel, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
For as far as I can remember, I have been obsessed with skincare. When I was little, my mother and I would put on face masks and watch movies which were like a treat for me. However, when I was younger, I didn’t realize I could make a career out of the skin. Fast forward to when I was pregnant with my son, I had been in the financial industry for a while and realized it wasn’t for me. I decided to take some time and become a stay-at-home mom. While I loved being home with my children, I felt like I was made to conquer and pursue more. I was trying to decide what career I wanted to pursue, and at the time, I was having hyperpigmentation skin issues from my pregnancy. It was like a lightbulb turned on, and I said, “I want to get into skincare, “and the rest is history. I’ve now been in the aesthetic game for 18 years! I started with basic skincare and knew immediately I wanted to be in the medical aesthetics field. After 8 years of medical aesthetics experience, I decided to go back to school to learn and master laser hair removal. There is such a huge market for lasers, and being solely an aesthetician just doesn’t cut it in this field. This was the best decision I ever made. I get to help people achieve their skin goals and help clients get rid of embarrassing hair growth. Being an Aesthetician & Laser Technician is such a rewarding career.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely has not been smooth sailing. I was with an amazing company for 9 years, but then we were hit with the pandemic, and a part of our department was let go. This was an extremely hard time because I was so used to where I was. But in life, that is what happens; you become comfortable. However, sometimes you have to be pushed out of your comfort zone to achieve greater things. In the past 2 years, I have had the incredible opportunity to be trained in treatments that are so cutting edge and hi-tech. This has allowed me to expand the portfolio of treatments that I can now offer. I now offer an array of services, including Radio Frequency Micro-needling (Morpheus 8), IPL, Body Contouring, HydraFacial, Laser Hair Removal, and much more.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I provide several aesthetic services, and it is really hard to pick one specific service that stands out as my specialty. I will say my clients depend on me for their skin regimen, and I take pride in guiding them on a customized skin journey. Laser Hair Removal is also a service that I am extremely passionate about. You wouldn’t think that a laser would make a huge difference in someone’s life, but let me tell you, it can be Life changing. To have a client cry and tell me I have made such a difference in how they feel and boosted their self-esteem is what makes me most happy and proud every single day. I am so lucky that I get to call this my career.

What sets me apart from others is my approach to skincare. I think it’s truly imperative for a client to understand the importance of what they are applying to their skin. Understanding why the products I have chosen to recommend to them when they walk out my door is my top priority.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
What I have learned on my journey is that the aesthetic world is ever-changing. I will always have to stay on top of new aesthetic trends, as they are evolving all of the time. I have also learned how to be patient and how to be an active listener. Clients want someone to hear their skin and hair removal concerns, not just dictate what they need. It is so important to stay humble because a client has a state full of aestheticians/laser techs to choose from, and I am lucky that they decide to choose me.

  • Hydrafacial $225
  • Microneedling $300
  • Dermaplaning $95
  • Morpheus 8 $1000
  • Laser Hair Removal $80-$300
