Conversations with Jared Shuey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jared Shuey.

Hi Jared, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve never stopped working; I quit the public school system at 16 to learn things that are more useful in the real world, and couldn’t be happier I did; I’ve worked as everything from blue-collar, mechanic, construction, salesman, even got my class A CDL all the way up until now where I’m doing personal training and nutritional coaching as well as modeling. I’m never one to back down from new experiences, and I enjoy besting myself and helping others get to where I am physically and mentally. I find a healthy, active lifestyle fixes most of your problems in life. The rest it definitely helps with; I’m excited for what the next stage of my life entails and am totally ok not knowing what’s coming next, I live my life spontaneously and based on kindness first.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t always been smooth; I’ve had a lot of health issues in my youth, and I’ve had to work jobs I didn’t really wanna do to get by, but the ends in this case definitely justify the means. Nutrition and exercise pretty much fixed all of the issues that would keep me sick in bed when I was young. As someone with a manual class A CDL at my age, nobody really wants to hire you unless you’re ok with 70k year for insurance, and truth be told very few people have one at 19. I totaled my first vehicle when I was 16, and at the time was devastating to me, being I worked most of my youth to buy that truck. Things have always been against me, but I’ve always been a bit too stubborn to let that affect me.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Right now, I’m a self-employed personal training and nutritionist in school and a fitness model starting out. I really am a jack of all trades, and that’s what stands me out from most people; they have a job and get stuck in it and don’t want to leave or just can’t. There’s mental roadblocks that I don’t buy into; I need to keep it interesting. Currently, I do meal plans, nutritional assistance, and workout plans for clients and attend castings and modeling venues to gain experience and meet new people in the amazing industry I’m entering. I definitely have a look that’s not super common, and I’m proud of that. I have so many certifications and commendations in different fields it’s really fun to look around and see all I’ve accomplished but it’s nothing close to what the future holds, and I only hold myself to a you vs your mentality.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
As a model primarily I really enjoy working with photographers and other models with shoots together in many different locations to expand and network and meet new people. As a trainer, I can make people change their body for the better, which is a big thing for models and even photographers. I’m always down for TFP photo shoots, or any type of friendly collaboration that promotes the interests of everyone involved, my meal planning is a big hit, and a lot of people are either excited to try it or love it already; my workout plans virtually stand out and make it easy for my clients as well.
