Daily Inspiration: Meet Gary Cox

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gary Cox.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My passion for music led me to begin doing music videos for my friends in the Bahamas about a year and a half ago for free. I knew that it would help them with their music careers as the average price for a music video in the Bahamas at the time was outrageous. I also saw a niche in the market so I decided to take the chance and launch Vision Campaign. I worked hard my first year, focusing on improving my skills both behind the camera and also in the editing process. As a result, my work improved and my brand grew and I began to work with many other artists both in the Bahamas and America.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has never a been smooth road. Learning to turn a hobby into a business can be very challenging for starters. Other struggles included long creative blocks and feeling like a piece of work was not up to standard were some of the struggles I often faced. However, I have recently began to gain more confidence in my work and directed my focus on defining my own style so that I have less creative blocks.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a videographer, music video director and editor. I think I’m known for my style of editing. I’m proud of the work that I recently did for a well-known artist, through him my logo and work was seen by thousands of people so I’m happy for that. I think I’m set apart from others because of my style and versatility.

What matters most to you? Why?
God. Family. Friends. Money. It’s all you need in this life.
