Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessie Panaguiton.
Hi Jessie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My pop-up picnic business started after my boyfriend and me went to Savannah for a 5 days’ vacation. He booked us a picnic at the Forsyst Park. That day he booked for us, it rained hard, so we never went to this schedule. I asked him if I can see the Airbnb Experience he booked, I loved the idea, and I thought to myself that I can also do this business in Orlando since we live near Lake Eola. I graduate in Hotel and Restaurant Management, and I love all this type of theme table setups and creativity which catering is also my other thing I love to do. So, when we went home, my boyfriend started to create my website, and I created my first pop-up picnic at Lake Eola, and there you go, people started to book one by one, and I love it cuz it gives me extra income and enhance more my creativity. These days, I still run it according to bookings; it has its peak and low season generally bcuz of the weather.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There are few struggles but after all, it was all fulfilling. I have another job; I keep the pop-up picnic around my full-time schedule, and that makes it more challenging.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
All my work experiences are on Hotel and Restaurant backgrounds; anything that goes for people’s enjoyment and satisfaction, I would deliver them in creativity and happiness. I also run a hot food vending business at local markets and events; I usually offer both my service picnic, catering, and foods. This makes me busy creating events that people demands for
What do you think about luck?
With this new business I have now, it reminds me that through consistent, diligent, and discipline, I can have a business of my own that one day, it will secure me financially and support my family. We always have time for both work and business and family when we know how to manage our time well.
