Daily Inspiration: Meet Joe Pannullo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Pannullo.

Hi Joe, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Grew up in New York with a stereotypical Italian household. I started my first job in the food and beverage industry 1996. Working in restaurants was never the plan; I actually went to school for criminal justice. Moved to Orlando in 2001 and have been here since. Worked in a number of local restaurants and hotels. Eventually, knowing I didn’t want to work for anyone, I starting my own personal chef business in 2012. I worked a full-time restaurant job and the personal chef business for 3-4 years. Thankfully now, the personal chef business is successful enough for me to make a living on its own. I own and operate My Chef Orlando and KaPooch Dog Treats.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course, not being a small business owner means you where the hats of many roles all the time which can be a lot of work and stressful at time. Trade off for having your own business is the control and your freedom.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Specializing in making great memories for people’s most import moments in life. As a personal chef, I have the privilege of being a part of celebrations in life, i.e… wedding, birthdays anniversaries. You can get this kind of personalization from a restaurant or caterer. Making those moments easier and memorable is proud and fulfilling.
