Daily Inspiration: Meet Julie Chabot

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julie Chabot.

Hi Julie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
We adopted Ernie from Furkids Animal Rescue and Shelter in January when he was 2 months old. Ernie’s entire litter (10 puppies) were rejected by their mother and brought to Furkids as a result. The pups were placed into different foster homes and nursed/taken care of by fosters until they were old enough to be adopted.

Ernie has become the light of our life and our best friend. He is such a smart pup and has a very sweet, loving, silly, and mischievous personality. He favorite things in the world are his toys, ice cubes, his cat brother Tibbles, his dog Uncle Freddie, stealing socks, his biological/foster sister Taco, food, and his mommy and daddy. There is no such thing as a stranger to Ernie, both dog and human alike. He loves everyone and everything!

We love taking Ernie exploring around the city – we just moved from Atlanta to Orlando, so it’s time to make new adventures! The West Orange Trail has been a staple walk since moving to the area. We can’t wait to take him on more nature trails, breweries, dog parks, and restaurant patios! Our latest big Adventure was to a Braves game for Bark in the Park in Atlanta – Ernie had a blast watching the baseball game and playing in the doggy pools.

We love Ernie with our whole hearts. He is our baby and our everything. We are so incredibly lucky to call him our best friend!

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My love for dogs began when I adopted my previous rescue hound dog, Glenn. He sadly passed away at the age of 3 due to epilepsy. We used to do everything together, from nature trails to dog parks to dog events, and I miss him every single day. Though he suffered from epilepsy, he was such a strong and happy dog! He was even featured in “It’s My Dog Birthday” T-Pain music video as well as “Southern Living Magazine.” I was so proud of him, and it still feels like he’s with me during every adventure that Ernie and I share together.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I coin herself a crazy dog mom and loves adventuring with her chocolate lab rescue named Ernie. As a Learning and Development Specialist by day and Instagram content creator by night, Julie loves sharing Ernie’s experiences and personality with the Instagram community. My favorite thing to showcase is Instagram Reels of Ernie. I have so many videos and photos of him I take on a daily basis – my specialty being his puppy photos and videos! You can follow Ernie at @Ernie_thepupper.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
The Instagram dog community is so amazing and welcoming! I was able to connect with other dog moms and dads in the area through Instagram, and we even have meet-ups every so often! I have also been able to connect with some of Ernie’s siblings through Instagram! It’s so much fun to watch them grow and even have play dates!
