Daily Inspiration: Meet Tristian Brown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tristian Brown.

Hi Tristian, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I began my journey in film back in college, where I attended North Carolina A&T State University. I majored in Broadcast production, and from there, I fell in love with the camera. I enjoyed the process of creating and producing content for the masses. After obtaining my degree from North Carolina A&T State University, I decided to further my studies and attended Full Sail University in Orlando, FL. At Full Sail, I obtained a Masters’s degree in Film Production.

After graduating, I decided to stay in Florida because I felt there was a lot more opportunity for growth here. I worked a few jobs here and there as a content creator, editor, or something related to camera jobs, but I knew I was destined for a lot more. At those jobs, I wasn’t allowed to be fully creative with what it was that I was doing. After about two years of being in a brand new city and state, I finally decided to throw myself out there. I started doing freelance videos for small businesses, music videos for up-and-coming music artists, and weddings for new couples. From there, I just started to grow and name and brand for myself. Every event I was hired to work, I would always bring my cards and network with as many people as possible. I take pride in creating timeless memories with my visuals. I try to let my work speak for itself. Now I’m on year five, living here in Orlando, and now I am getting booked throughout the whole state of Florida. Never give up and stay consistent.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There were for sure some struggles along the way. I tell everybody, nothing happens overnight. You have to get out in the field and take some losses before you can catch some wins. In the early stages, I had to go through some hiccups because I wasn’t prepared or taught properly how to run a business, so I had to learn how to market myself accordingly, write contracts, handle payments etc. But I had to start somewhere. I also wasn’t working with the greatest equipment when I first started out, so I had to work really hard with the equipment that i could afford back then. Every client/event was a new chance to learn , grow, and improve myself in this career field.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a video director, cinematographer, and content creator. I specialize in wedding videography, branding commercials, and music videos. I would say I am most known for my wedding videography. Weddings keep me the most busy for sure. I would say that I am most proud that I am able to make of living off something that I thoroughly enjoy doing. I get to travel the world and create. What sets me apart is my approach to life. I have a very positive spirit about me, so I make every project fun. I interact with my clients and make them feel comfortable. As far as the work, I’m all about clean, creative, cinematic shots. I have a style that a lot of people seem to love.

What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future are to expand. I want to grow a team here in Florida and also other states around the world. I have reached the point where I can no longer be everywhere at once, so I need to start building a team to help me take on the load. I want to continue pursuing the wedding industry heavily. I want to become the go-to guy for millennials getting married. I have already launched a Photo Booth business as well called Picture Play Photo Booth, which I already have as and add-on service to my videography service. So I totally want to continue to grow in the wedding industry. I also plan to keep traveling the world and creative content for new clients. I plan to work on bigger budget projects and work with a bigger music artist.
