Daily Inspiration: Meet Untitled Barcelona Gisselle and Mirtza Morales

Today we’d like to introduce you to Untitled Barcelona with: Gisselle and Mirtza Morales.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?

The initial idea of the Untitled Barcelona project arises from a conversation on a Sunday afternoon at a family reunion between two sisters, where we felt the need to bring to the market a product where art and fashion accessories could be merged, to giving us the freedom of expression and creativity that we wanted at that time. We thought it was a wonderful idea, as Gisselle knows fine art and artistic jewelry design that was complemented by years of experience in the fashion world, while Mirtza would oversee marketing the product among communities of women entrepreneurs and carrying out activities to promote and sell, which is something she enjoys to the fullest. We start creating a business based in Barcelona, Spain with a global reach. In 2017 approximately, the brand took a turn towards consciousness and evolution inspired by the chakra concepts, well-being, eco-friendly, and slow fashion, as a result of a personal and spiritual path of the whole team. We became an international family business, Mirtza is in the USA in Orlando, Florida working closely with the American market while Gisselle is in Spain, Barcelona working with the European market. Both sisters, alongside all the members of Untitled Barcelona became more active and vocal figures in their social networks. The brand served other women as an inspiration to the recognition of their power, creativity, and spiritual path, based on high vibration accessories created from consciousness and the individual’s capacity for healing and recognition.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No, it has been not. The great challenge we have had along the way is to help the consumer to understand the transcendental and spiritual history behind our bags and accessories, they are inspired by the concept of the chakra energy, a philosophy taken as inspiration from kundalini yoga. We have tried to unite two worlds: fashion and spirituality. The great challenge has been to transmit to the consumer the creative part, the design, the functionality, and its non-tangible spiritual properties. In Untitled, we believe that we are abundant beings and through our accessories, we confirm that we can work our spirits and energy in creativity, abundance, beauty, and personal empowerment.
Another challenge has been to be able to synchronize the times of individual growth within a collective to be able to take this project forward. We want to make it known and have greater recognition and scope.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What sets us apart is the promotion of our value and personal well-being with personal empowerment accessories for women. Eco-friendly, considering style, ethics, and sustainable practice. The concept of slow fashion and handmade by spiritual and conscious artists to promote the healing energy inspired by the chakras. It is important for us that the final result is a functional, light, and relaxed product, with an elegant boho-chic air. Each piece must have: Art, empowering messages, healing stones with high vibration, and high-quality materials made exclusively in Barcelona, we feel very proud of the bags and accessories we offer, with intention, good vibes, and purpose.
The materials we use are leather, cotton, and handmade weaving. The leather is supplied by high-quality suppliers that are governed under the European Union law, which guarantees eco-friendly and vegetable-dyed leather. The cotton collections are vegan-friendly, which was created for our vegan clients, in high-quality cotton hand-painted by local painters. Our handmade crochet fabrics are embroidered with a wooden needle by local artisans. Soon, in our new collection, we will be using recycled cotton threads from textile waste, to continue helping to take care of the planet for a more sustainable future.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Don’t give up on your dreams, vision, and journey. Every experience will take you to a next level. Creating something new and different takes time, knowledge, and patience. The project needs to develop organically, it is not only about what you have envisioned in your mind. Everything comes and goes towards its development but not in time and in the order of how you had imagined it. It is a journey with a lot of detours. Be open and receptive.
