Exploring Life & Business with Amaya & Krysta D’Onofrio of Friery of Glam and Glory Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amaya & Krysta D’Onofrio

Hi Amaya & Krysta, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Being four girls raised by a single grandmother, the biggest lesson she taught us was to think big and never limit ourselves. No matter what hardships we faced, she kept her faith and always kept us in church. Life wasn’t easy growing up but we quickly learned how important family and the memories we shared together were during these hard times.

However, there’s moments that only exist in our memories. Photos of our amazing childhood are very limited. We see now, the importance a photo has. It freezes a memory for years and years to come.

We had one other turn of events that led us to our profession.

On December 24, 2019, our life was turned completely upside down. Our brother passed away in a horrific car accident. This event had us digging through photos to see his face again, we realized our photos together were also very scarce. The importance of photos magnified even larger.

We now help families across Florida capture milestones within their life. Whether it be family sessions, anniversaries, events, weddings, and more!

A little less than three months ago we launched our business and we have seen amazing growth in our company. The amount of work we have already been able to do has been remarkable. We have already booked into 2023 for cosmetics and photography. We give all the glory to God as he continues to grow our business and bring us amazing clients!

We bring the Glam and give God the Glory!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Any photographer can agree that getting your first couple of clients can be one of the hardest tasks a new photographer faces. It’s at this time that your why has to be greater than your circumstances. Patience and determination are very necessary during this time.

Also, being a new photographer people from your community will doubt your business choice. We did get some negativity regarding our business which only motivated us to keep going.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are two sisters that specialize in photography and cosmetics.

Amaya, the older sister of the two, modeled for a very long time. We incorporate the knowledge learned over the years of being in front of the camera, and now put it behind the camera. With a love for photography comes a need for creativity. Being a photographer or model, you have to make the most of your environment to create great photos. This background has really helped spark this creativity for Amaya.

Krysta, the youngest of the two has always been there for support in Amaya’s modeling career. She has learned a lot of photography tips and tricks throughout the years. She also has always had an eye for cosmetics. This started as a very young girl when she began to do makeup on not only herself but also for her sisters, grandmother, and friends. She studied techniques and the fundamentals regarding makeup. For product knowledge, she currently works at Sephora. This helps her stay up to date with new makeup trends and products.

With this experience, we launched our photography and cosmetic business. We have expanded our knowledge even further by constantly learning more about both photography and cosmetics in order to thrive in the industry.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up we were very full of life and energy! We enjoyed entertaining family and friends that would come over, by putting on a show for them. We were four girls growing up together so we loved everything fashion and makeup. We had a very eventful childhood, to say the least, but growing up as four builds in best friends shed some light in any darkness that we faced.
