Exploring Life and Business with Destiny Harris of DeAli Creations

Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Harris.

Hi Destiny, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started making jewelry right after I graduated high school in 2020. Over quarantine, like most people, I started getting crafty and learning how to tie knots for necklaces and how to work with resin. Over the summer, I moved to Orlando and began taking my business seriously. After a few months of creating, I found out about all of the local farmer’s markets around town. From there, I started selling my crafts at markets like the East Orlando Farmers market, The Veranda at Thornton Park, and I even had the opportunity to vend at an event that raised awareness about military injustices. I have many more events coming soon, and my hope is that one day I will be able to be a full-time vendor!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Well, my crafts have not always been as beautiful as they are now. Over time I had to teach myself how to bend metals and keep the bubbles out of my resin, and I’ve messed up a lot of projects, but I learn from each mistake. I also had to teach myself how to market and promote my business on social media, which has not always been easy to keep up with. I am trying my best every day!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about DeAli Creations?
At DeAli Creations, I make custom handmade jewelry using different materials like healing crystals, wire, beads, and more. I also make resin accessories with stones, flowers, and bright colors. All of my pieces are unique form each other, so everything is one of a kind! I sell my products locally around Orlando with other amazing local and family businesses. A lot of my products are given to people as gifts, and I am very proud that there are people all over that have a piece of me and my creativity.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My advice to others is to just keep going. You will see your progress over time and realize you have come a long way one day, and you will be super proud of yourself. So just keep creating, dreaming, healing, and learning. Everything else will unfold for you.
