Hidden Gems: Meet Bonny Bailey-Finck of P.S. I Love You Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bonny Bailey-Finck.

Hi Bonny, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in a military family, My mother worked with our church in Catering, and I have been setting tables and rolling napkins (by choice) since I was in elementary school. My sister also works in Hospitality and makes sure I understand the North Eastern & East Coast Markets and Food! As her expertise is Culinary. So after graduating from UCF with a degree in Production Management, I stayed in Orlando and began my career with Walt Disney World Entertainment. After a time at the parks, I took a position doing Talent Booking & Motion Capture Booking for Electronic Arts, where I worked with actors, athletes and VIP’s of every stripe. Coordinating their schedules and needs is one of many jobs that prepared me to deliver magic and amazement to brides every day!Disney Event Group was my next stop, where I coordinated fairy-tale weddings and multi-day special events for our valued clients and their families. I transitioned to Shades of Green, where it was my honor to work with military families to make their Disney wedding dreams come true.

It was also my dream come true combining my military upbringing with the experience of doing weddings at the happiest place on earth!I continued to develop my craft by joining the Universal Studios Entertainment Team, where I met and worked with many of the entertainers both on Stages and as Atmosphere throughout the Parks. Highlights of my career include Halloween Horror Nights, Terminator 2, Reopening of Grinchmas Live, and the Opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. From there, I went to work for Dubsdread Catering and became the Venue Manager for Highland Manor, making sure the 100+-year old building was kept in perfect order. No one in Orlando knows that venue better than we do! For the past 16 years, I have been immersed in the Orlando Wedding Market, having coordinated well over 3,000 ceremonies and receptions. My other areas of expertise include military celebrations, multicultural events, and specialty theming. I currently live in the North Orlando Area with my husband, son, and our fur babies (who are also our business mascots for our Pet Attendant Services)!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being a Planner means you have no tangible product, and getting people to understand what you actually provide and your value can be tricky! With Highland/Dubsdread – Understanding and listening to what a 100+ old house needs – during hurricanes, summer lightning storms, and just general maintenance to keep up “wedding quality”. I have had so many experiences, but they were always under other’s names/umbrellas. It is tough to funnel those experiences to a relevant and current business that is self-sustaining while still maintaining the relationships built along the way. And lastly, making sure I stay true to myself and what sorts of clients I crave. I say crave because as much as they need a Planner, Coordinator or Entertainment — their experiences are what fill me up with joy!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
P.S. I Love You Productions has the insight, understanding and instincts to turn your vision into a reality and make sure your perfect day goes off without a hitch! And all the while, being STRESS-FREE! We specialize in Event Coordination, Event Planning & Entertainment/Talent Booking. We want you to get the most out of any and all of your experiences, whether it is for a Wedding, Birthday Party, Anniversary, Quince, Bat or Bar Mitzvah or Corporate Event. One of my favorite sayings is “You don’t know what you don’t know”, and that is why we are here! My background stems from LARGE Scale Events (i.e., 20-35k people) so I feel super comfortable in average event sizes that range 100-700pp. Our experience in the Entertainment Industry assists in helping develop schedules that best suit the client’s vision as well as getting the most for the $. Orlando is so full of talent, but someone needed to figure out how to bridge that talent to Social Events and make them make sense… That is where we came into play!

When COVID struck, we received an opportunity in our Wedding Community to pivot with our version of a Wedding Design I actually wanted to do with my husband in Vegas, The Orlando Drive Thru Wedding. An actual drive up window where you could bring your marriage license, exchange vows, take a few photos for keepsakes and live stream if you wish. All the while including pets, parents, kids… Anyone who wanted to come along with no extra frills if you didn’t want them. And all happening while being “Socially Distant.” We think this product will become even more popular when tourists return… finger’s crossed! Stemming from my last trip to the Wedding MBA, they really pushed having a Business Motto — a short, descriptive phrase about your company that represents our sets of beliefs, ideals or ethical stance. And just a few short months ago, we figure out our perfect motto – “The noblest art is that of making others happy.” P. T. Barnum And I HOPE that is what we do for our clients!

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I am a huge theater geek, so I love musicals and play the music while I work — Amazon Music is where it is at! Also love Taylor Swift, as her music literally has an album for each emotion. I also do a lot of Crime Drama – Book shows etc. For Industry Development, I enjoy listening to “The Gingerpreneur” & “She Who Dares” Podcasts FB Group – Fynd Them For Personal Development I find refuge in our Florida Dog Foster’s FB Group as I am the Dog Foster Coordinator for The Pixel Fund pet rescue group. It makes me feel like I am attempting to do my part making the world a better place! Apps that I find I am drawn to include: Weather Apps, I LOVE the Atlanta Aquarium Tank Cams — watching the blue whales swim relaxes me. And one day I will get to swim with them!
