Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Gomez.
Hi Jasmine, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Growing up, I loved playing around with makeup. I knew I wanted to be a makeup artist when I grew up. I was able to do amazing makeup on myself to the point where I had others asking me to do their makeup for weddings, Quinceaneras, and other special occasions. But when it came to others, I didn’t feel confident enough to offer my makeup services, so I decided to go to school for makeup. The school I attended didn’t teach me the makeup looks and skills I was hoping to learn. But I did fall in love with skincare. I had terrible acne since elementary school I tried everything & had no way to get it under control. So, learning about what to do and not to do with my skin definitely made a difference since I was doing everything wrong! I’ve now been a licensed Esthetician for 4 years & I love every bit of skincare. I love making my clients feel confident in their skin to the point where they need no makeup at all! It feels amazing to know I’m able to help clients reach their skin care goals and also educate them. At the beginning of 2021, I decided to branch out on my own & it’s been the best decision I’ve made so far! @TheOrlandoEsthetician
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road like I thought it would be. But nothing worthwhile comes easy, right? While in beauty school, I was supposed to be done within 6 months. It took me a year due to becoming pregnant. I knew I had to finish before my daughter was born so I could have my career started right after her. I was able to graduate a month & 1/2 before giving birth. Since then, it has been a struggle trying to be a mom, work my regular 9-5 jobs, & also be a business owner. I struggled a lot with not having the help of family in Florida since I’m from Georgia originally. It’s tough also not being from Florida & not knowing as many people as someone that has been here all their lives. But I’m learning to balance it all, while also meeting new clients. It has been a huge help to have the support of my clients, my family, & friends when it comes to sharing my content, giving me shoutouts, and just simply liking a post!
As you know, we’re big fans of Jasmine Gomez Esthetics (The Orlando Esthetician). For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
All though I mainly specialize in skincare, I am a Full Specialist of Skin & Nails. I’m mostly known for my facials. I offer a variety of facials, sugar waxing, lip blush tattoo, and natural manicures & pedicures. My facials range from classic spa facials to advanced facials such as microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, micro needling, chemical peels, & hydradermabrasion. What sets me apart from others is my desire to educate clients on what their skin actually needs versus what they think they need. I’m not trying to upsell any expensive services if their skin does not need it. I’m not about the money at all. My main goal is to help the client see their skin improve. I’m most proud of my brand because I’m very passionate about skincare and I have many clients that acknowledge it.
What makes you happy?
Seeing my clients’ reactions after their facials makes everything worth it! Being able to see my clients go from not being confident with their skin to them turning into a whole new person being able to go makeup free!
