Hidden Gems: Meet Khalif Hollis of Only We Prosper Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Khalif Hollis.

Hi Khalif, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It’s a pleasure to be telling you all about my artistic career so far. The first time I ever picked up a camera was my junior year of high school for the school yearbook. I was also on the football team all throughout high school, and I always knew I had to do something other than football because I didn’t want that to be my only career choice later on. After high school, I earned a full ride to play at Benedict College a Division two school in Columbia, South Carolina. Even though my football career ended after a year, I still had one thing I loved the most and that was my camera. So once I picked up the camera again and left Benedict. I started my freelance career in Orlando & in school at Bethune-Cookman University. Ever since, I haven’t stopped shooting!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When a lot of people pick up a camera, it’s for many different reasons. For some, it could be just cause they want to capture their loved ones lives. Although for some, it could be other reasons, and it could be good or bad. While being an artist who is also an entrepreneur, for my company Only We Prosper Productions L.L.C; I deal with many different teaching lessons because I don’t look at the losses as me failing or struggling, and I simply look at it as a chance to learn and grow as an artist. It has helped my business grow to wonders that I can’t imagine. There has been times that things didn’t workout between a client and I, but one thing I always try to do is make sure that I learn from the mistake that took place. Overall my business is on the right track and is at a constant growth to getting better. The biggest goal now is making sure each customer is leaving their shoot Joyful and satisfied with themselves and in me as their photographer or videographer.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Only We Prosper Productions is based out of the central Florida area covering all photography and videography for events or freelance work. I created this brand name back in 2019 when I just transferred over to Bethune-Cookman University. I first started out with so many different names at one point, it’s quite funny when I look back on it. Although my company name is Only we prosper productions, I still go by the name LeefVisualz. My companies main focus points are photography and Videography. We specialize in graduation photos, school events, birthday parties, music videos, Nightlife events, business headshots, and many more necessities. Also, know how to work multiple different editing platforms so there’s constant growth in production. I personally believe there is no competition when it comes to many other artists, and all we have to do is keep creating the new latest piece of art while we shoot, that will always be what separates people while in this field; but it could be for good reasons rather than for negative reasons. That’s why I go so hard about my brand. I try to only support other artists and grow myself as an artist so my business can make ends meet for my family and myself.

How do you think about happiness?
Honestly, the biggest things that make me happy is accomplishing the goals I set out personally for myself and seeing the people I love succeed. Other than those two things, I’m at peace with everything else in life at this present moment.
