Inspiring Conversations with Olga Dolynina of SWEAT LAB

Today we’d like to introduce you to Olga Dolynina

Hi Olga, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Fitness has always been a part of my life. As a former trained dancer, I have spent hours in the gym training myself or training others. The movement has been my passion and a source of my happiness. Shortly after college, I traded my dance career for a career in management. However, even when working corporate jobs, I made sure that I was connected to the fitness industry and kept moving my body and motivating others to move. I made it a priority to squeeze in a little time to teach fitness and yoga classes or train on the side. Over the years, I gained knowledge and expertise in different disciplines like yoga, Pilates and prenatal training to add diversity and uniqueness to my training style. While corporate check paid the bills, fitness gigs fed the soul. Over time I found myself managing fitness and yoga studios for others and helping them to build their success and make their dreams become a reality. Even though I always wanted to branch out on my own, the fear of failure and financial instability always kept me in the comfort zone.

In 2018 I made my move from New York City to Orlando, Florida to be closer to my family and in hopes to finally pursue my passion head-on. Being new to the area, I slowly started to establish myself while teaching at local studios and exploring the market. The fitness industry is one of the toughest to build your business in, but it’s also one of the most rewarding ones. As a fitness professional, I get to help people feel great, strong and confident every day. To me it’s a dream job! During the pandemic, I took the leap and finally decided to fully devote myself to my passion of helping people move. I started SWEAT LAB, a fitness platform that helps people get fit, stay fit and feel comfortable in their own skin. My goal is to help as many people as possible to move and fall in love with their bodies.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has no been the smoothest road, but it’s been a fun ride! Through every obstacle and every mistake, I learned how to be better: a better manager, a better trainer and teacher, a better motivator, but also a better human too. I have been very lucky to have a very supportive circle of people who have been there for me cheering me on and witnessing my growth. I’ve wanted to do my own thing for a while, so when I finally launched my fitness platform, the most common response from my friends was “Finally!” I finally got the courage, I guess. The biggest challenge for me has been breaking through the market, especially virtually. Fitness industry is very saturated right now. Once the pandemic hit, everyone went online. There are thousands of different fitness programs, challenges, and classes out there. How do you differentiate and make yourself noticeable on the market these days? I have been implementing different marketing strategies, running specials, offering referrals, etc. You just have to keep trying while knowing that you have a valuable service to offer and overtime the buzz about it will be created.

Word of mouth is the most powerful marketing tool, and that’s how I am able to grow my platform. My clients’ personal journeys have been my “business cards’. Once you see someone feeling great and looking great, you want what they do!

A few personal struggles that I encountered through this journey were self-doubt and lack of patience. There is always this voice inside that asks all the little questions: “Why me? What is it so special that I have to offer? What if it doesn’t work out? Do I have what it takes? Are my fitness programs good enough?”. Self-doubt can really get to you and put things on hold. So it is important to believe in yourself and your vision and remember why you started in the first place. After each yoga class I teach or training session I do, I am reminded of why I love my work so much. I’m reminded that I get to help others to be their best selves, and that’s the biggest confirmation that I’m doing the right thing, and I just can’t stop now. Building my own platform has tested my patience for sure. I would like to wake up and have it all and have it now. It doesn’t work that way. Everything takes time. It takes time to turn an idea into a business. It takes time to grow it, just like it takes time to learn to balance on one leg or get into a headstand or build a muscle definition. I have to remind myself that it is a journey. It’s not easy to build your own. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it. So when I feel extremely impatient about my business, I have to remind myself to keep moving forward, keep doing what I’m doing, keep putting in work, and it will pay off.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about SWEAT LAB?
SWEAT LAB is a fitness platform that offers Yoga, Pilates and Fitness classes on-demand, LIVE on Zoom and in person. It was created to help people get fit, stay fit, and feel comfortable in their own skin. I wanted SWEAT LAB to be inclusive, accessible and affordable. Anyone can find a workout at SWEAT LAB that is right for them. Classes can be done anywhere with minimum equipment and space. All workouts are fun and result-oriented. I’m known for diversity and motivation. When you show up to my class, whether it is online or in-person, you will be pumped and have the most fun sweating! You might hate me in the moment during certain exercises, but you will love me after you see how much stronger you become over time. Classes and programs are open for everyone. I have clients from all over the country who sweat with me daily, thanks to the technology. No excuses. You set a goal, and I will get you there. All you need to do is show up and be willing to sweat! SWEAT LAB is one of the most diverse fitness platforms on the market and offers LIVE Yoga, mat Pilates and Fitness classes (on Zoom and on-demand, monthly transformation challenges (LIVE on Zoom; 6 days a week, 30mins a day), sculpting on-demand challenges (Abs Lab, Cardio Lab and Booty Lab) and Personal Training (LIVE on Zoom and in-person).

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Being authentic is extremely important to me. It sets me apart from others. I’m raw, I’m unique, and I’m brutally honest. I keep it real with my clients when we set goals and build programs. I keep it real in HIIT classes when we do high knees for a minute or hold planks. I don’t promise unrealistic results and I don’t sugarcoat it for anyone. I’m a real person who helps other real people on their fitness journeys. If I’m authentic with my clients, my business is successful.
