Hi Vanessa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?

Pivoted business in 2008 to serve the community on a larger scale. Started a non-profit in 2008 to help neighbors in need. Raised $50,000 with first community event. Awarded a grant through the City of Orlando to continue serving the community through non-profit. Received a certificate in non-profit management from Rollins College in 2009. Served on the board as Orlando Chapter President for Pink Heals (2015-2018), a national non-profit helping women and their families. Transitioned business in 2020 to serve women entrepreneurs and help them finish what they start. Awarded the Avalon Innovation Award in August 2020 for creatively serving the needs of women entrepreneurs.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Not always. My first business closed due to the recession in 2008 I had to learn to pivot and offer my services in a different way. This “failure” was actually a great lesson in being an Entrepreneur. Not everything will always will go as plan, some times you won’t even have a plan, but just keep moving forward.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

More and more women are becoming Entrepreneurs either out of desire or necessity, however most find themselves alone in the journey. WOMANtrepreneur brings women entrepreneurs together, so they finish what they start. Entrepreneurship takes persistence, dedication, vision, determination, and wearing a number of different hats. WOMANtrepreneur offers the support needed to take a Vision and turn it in to a reality. There are other businesses that are similar to WOMANtrpreneur, however we aren’t just your cheerleaders. We provide practical resources, one 2 one check-ins, “advisory board” group meetings and more. We take you out of the day to day tasks of wearing all the hats in your business, get you to WORK ON it and then hold you accountable with a group of your peers. We aren’t a celebrity face telling you what to do, we are all entrepreneurs building business right by your side! WOMANtrepreneur is most proud of recently winning the Avalon Innovation Award for providing services to aspiring, start-up and newer entrepreneurs. Our services do not promise success. Members have to put the work in, but if you show up every month to the meetings, so does success! “You didn’t wake up to be mediocre!”

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We need industry experts who are willing to offer consultation/services that our members can use. For example: Accountants, Marketing, Advertising, Sales, Business Law, Human Resources, etc.
