Today we’d like to introduce you to Trish Lehoux.
Hi Trish, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My husband (and now business partner) Nate and I met in 2009 while working for a non-profit in eastern Texas. For years, we talked about starting a venture together while we independently pursued a variety of other careers. I spent many years in the wedding industry and moved into interior styling, and Nate worked in private investing and later co-founded a tech startup in the gaming space. As with many things in life, nómada pushed its way to the surface when we were least expecting it. Nate was redesigning a logo for a friend’s business (literally for fun), and that snowballed into a complete rebrand and business strategy overhaul that lasted for several months. By the time we’d finished, the scope of work even included a new environmental design/build for their main office lobby. We absolutely loved the process of opening our client’s eyes to the problems their organization was facing and the solutions they could implement to overcome them and win new business from their target market. And that’s how nómada was born.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There’s been no shortage of obstacles we’ve had to overcome to get to where we’re at. Life is one giant learning experience, and those lessons are almost always painful. The process of discovering what you truly love – and then turning that into a profitable business – is not for the faint of heart. We’ve had multiple deals and business ventures earlier in our lives that ultimately went nowhere despite serious effort, and those failures opened the door to self-doubt and discouragement. It takes time to move past those things and pursue the next opportunity, but we’re extremely fortunate to have an incredible support system in each other and the close friends and family members who’ve believed in us all the way.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
The best thing about Orlando is the huge variety of activities and events in the surrounding areas. From great restaurants to amazing shows to awesome theme parks, there’s always something for everyone to enjoy. For my least favorite thing, it’s a toss-up between the dead heat of summer and the traffic on 1-4 near Disney. Sooo bad!
