Inspiring Conversations with Yulia Glouchko of SkinEsthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yulia Glouchko.

Hi Yulia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Moved to US five years ago, I was completely sure I’ll be a pharmacist like in my home country, but being here showed me more and more that anything is possible and if I want, I can choose any career path any time! So I decided to follow my own route and become licensed esthetician, from volunteering as a student, working in chain spa, and other beauty salons I realized that I worth to be on the other side of industry-I can be owner, I can have my own rules and vision, it was scary and exciting at the same time, but so far the best decision ever! I have my own suite and clients who appreciate my style, my vision and work! Maybe it’s pretty trivial but for real! If you love what you do, you don’t feel like it’s work!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest struggle – people telling me, omg you’re a pharmacist, so when are you gonna proceed real work path??? At some point, I stopped telling I have this education and experience! But!!! Then I realized it’s my own way, I don’t care what they say if I feel happy with what I’m doing now. Yes, I’m proud that I have medical university experience in my background, I’m happy with my past but I’m happy with my present as well! Besides, it really helps with my work now, chemistry and biology is a must if you do skincare!

Another thing-underestimating myself. Yes, biggest struggle for many people, you don’t move forward because you think you’re not good enough but you are!! Just accept it! You are good, you are specialist, people follow you, they listen to you… waiting some advice, trust you…..well took some time to accept my own significance.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about SkinEsthetics?
I feel like individual approach is what separates me from others, I don’t have protocols, programs, just follow what I see at the moment, always analyzing the whole picture, lifestyle of person, his personality. Being realistic is very important too! My specialty is skincare, such as deep pore cleansing, chemical peels, microneedling, facial massage.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I’m always researching. It can be YouTube psychological channel or book about success, or movie (scientific or even drama). Also, I’m learning something from every human I’ve met, either good or bad, doesn’t matter. There is always something to learn from everyone!
