Today we’d like to introduce you to Alayna Phillips.

Hi Alayna, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Originally from Louisiana, I made the move to Orlando, FL in 2012 after graduating with a B.A. in business management from Southeastern Louisiana University. I was given the opportunity to complete a management internship with the Walt Disney Company that I just couldn’t pass up, so I packed up and moved down to the Sunshine State! Working for Disney was such an amazing experience and I am so glad that I was given that opportunity because it brought me to Florida, which is where I met my husband and we now have two beautiful children together. I learned so much from my time at Disney about how to provide an exceptional customer experience and the importance of consistency in a business. Walt Disney once said, “Whatever you do, do it well. Do it so well that when people see you do it, they will want to come back and see you do it again, and they will want to bring others and show them how well you do what you do.” My real estate journey began in 2015 when I got a job opportunity to work at a title insurance office in Downtown Orlando as a title processor. I was newly married at the time and was looking to switch gears and find more of a 9-5 office job.

At the time, I had no idea what a title processor did or even what title insurance was! I had always been interested in real estate however, and I quickly absorbed as much information as possible in my new position. As I became more familiar with the real estate world, I really started to contemplate getting my real estate license. Fast forward four years and two kids later, and I finally felt like the timing was right. I wanted to be able to contribute more financially to my family and I was ready and excited to start this next chapter in my life. So, on New Years Day in 2019, I signed up for the real estate licensing course and by March 2019, I was a licensed Realtor! I worked hard and studied everyday for that test because I wanted more for myself and my family. I wanted to be my own boss, have control over my schedule and to really build a successful business centered around providing an exceptional client experience. Today, I run a highly successful real estate business and have now taken on the role as a mentor to new agents entering the industry. I use the knowledge and skills that I gained from my time working at Disney and in the title industry every day to provide the best experience possible for my buyers and sellers. I think my journey and success is a testament to the fact that you can achieve anything you set your mind to!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Running a business as a mom of two young kids is HARD! I have had to become very good at multi-tasking out of necessity. I also try to be strategic about how I will spend my time each day. I struggle with not being able to do ALL the things. With social media, it’s so easy for us to fall into the comparison trap. I try to catch myself when I am having those thoughts of not being enough or doing enough. My business and career are very important to me, but my most important job is being a Mom. I just have to keep reminding myself to enjoy this time now while my kids are little because they are growing up so fast!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Central Florida Realtor with EXP Realty, based out of Oviedo, FL and ranked as one of the top 5% of Realtors in the nation. I specialize in listings, first-time home buyers and relocation, and I service the Seminole and Orange County area. I’m not just your average Realtor. I go above and beyond for each one of my clients while providing high-level consulting. My goal is to make sure my clients feel as if they are my only client! I strongly believe that it is not only my duty to represent my clients to the best of my ability but also to educate and empower them throughout every step of the process by arming them with top-notch information and market insight so that my clients can make the best decisions possible.
