Today we’d like to introduce you to Aliya Burhan
Hi Aliya, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hello! I’m Aliya and I started my social media journey back in 2016. With the thought of my showing my adventures through Orlando. I was a freshman in college when I thought getting into this “influencer” was a cool opportunity for me to have fun on the side. I never expected for it to blossom into what it is today. I now have my own Website, a Photography business, and begetting actual income from doing what I love. I knew the only way that would grow was by connecting with those in the same area as me or with the same interests. Small shops that I have grown up purchasing from soon sent me stuff to promote for them. Those small shops then lead to major company-sponsored posts. My thing is, never forget where you started or who helped you get where you are. Those small companies are the ones I owe everything to, as they were the ones to give me a shot to show them my style and improve my photography. With that, I am forever grateful.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There is absolutely no such thing as a smooth road in the business of content creating and marketing. For everyone, “Yes,” there are a hundred “No’s.” My thing is, it never hurts to try and reach out. The worst thing is them sending back a “not at this time” or “we do not have room for more collaborations right now, check back later.” Once one company says a “Yes,” you know that you are worth it because someone sees the potential you have to create great content.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
You absolutely don’t need to go anywhere to be creative. Having this pandemic has made my creativity blossom and really reach for the stars. Most companies loved that you could sell their brand while maintaining safety from COVID-19. So mainly, Amazon was my main source of finding props and creative backgrounds.
