Life & Work with Angela Bond and Geisha Barazarte

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Bond and Geisha Barazarte.

Hi Angela & Geisha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Thanks for having us. I’m originally from Oneida, NY. I received my degree in Fine Arts and Photography from Munson Williams Proctor Institute of Art. After graduating I moved to Orlando in 1999 and soon after was hired at Walt Disney World as a photographer. That’s where I met Geisha Barazarte. Geisha is originally from Caracas, Venezuela where she earned her degree in Journalism. She moved to the US in 1992. Geisha and I slowly turned our passion for photography into a business. Creativa Photography was established in 2013. We specialize in many different types of photography including, headshots, real estate, families, weddings, and events.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Geisha and I are both right-brained thinkers. We think creatively, not logically. And when you’re trying to run a business, that’s not always easy. We have had to learn to be disciplined with our bookkeeping. Both of us would much rather be out taking pictures, not crunching numbers. But after 20 years we’ve mastered it.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We are very proud of the relationships we build with our clients. Many of which have hired us thought out the years for their family’s special events. In several instances, we’ve shot someone’s engagement photo’s and then they ask us to shoot their wedding. Before you know it, we are taking pictures at their child’s birthday party. In other circumstances, a client needs headshots for a new career, as their business grows, we are right alongside of them supporting their photography needs. We have many loyal clients who have become dear friends.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Our ability to put our clients at ease. Geisha and I understand that being in front of the camera can be difficult or downright scary. Nerves can make a person very tense. That’s why we have a few tricks to make people feel comfortable and confident. We want our clients to feel relaxed and enjoy their time with us.
