Today we’d like to introduce you to Kailey Hostetter.
Born and raised in Tampa Florida, Kailey has spent most of her adult life in the hair industry. Kailey started cosmetology school her freshman year of high school at the age of 15. She knew what she wanted to do from the git go! Once graduation came, she was able to receiver her license and started working for Paul Mitchell Schools and behind the chair. From 2013 – now, she continue working for the schools and behind the chair. Her passion for hair and working behind the chair led to the idea of unique capes. Always working with black boring capes made her venture out and decide to start her own brand.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I decided to start the business during the covid pandemic so it was most definitely difficult. I felt as if everything I worked so hard for was crumbing. Hair dressers couldn’t work. We were stuck home and I was sitting in my thoughts. I decided to just go for it. Best decision ever!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the Education director at a Paul Mitchell School. Work behind the chair at Salon Athena. Owner of Stone Capes. Known for hair and capes! Instagram Kailey.Noel and Stone.uniquelikeyou Most proud of starting my own business and letting go of the fear of it.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was actually very shy and nervous to do anything. Now that I’m an adult, I’ve grown out of it. I had to push myself out of that shell. Venture out.
