Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing should be smooth. Obstacles is how we grow. When I first started in real estate, I juggled being a full-time teacher and realtor. That took a toll on me both physically and emotionally, as I was working 15+ hour days to help grow our business. As our business grew, my wife (Yvette) left her job downtown to join me in the real estate world. We had to learn to navigate working and growing together, which we still don’t have down to a science, but we are much better today then we were back in 2016-17. Another obstacle has been growing our team. What started out as just Yvette and I is now a team of eight.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
The Kendrick Team was created in 2016 when Yvette Kendrick left her downtown career and joined her husband Kevin Kendrick, who was licensed in 2010, in the real estate industry. As a husband-wife team, they were able to bring their unique skills sets together to bring their love and joy for people and their local community together while building a successful real estate company through Keller Williams in Lake Nona. As The Kendrick Team, they have leveraged their joy of helping families buy and sell residential homes with supporting the local community, such as the local schools, church, hospitals and neighborhoods. Since 2016, The Kendrick Team has consistently ranked in the Top 1% of all Realtors in the Greater Orlando, earning multiple awards along the way. Their unique desire to build personal relationships with their customers beyond the buy/sell process has given them the opportunity to live their tag line of “Relationships Matter: People Matter to Us.”

In 2021, we started using a new slogan – A Name You Can Trust! Ultimately, we want our customers – past, present and future – to know that they can trust us and what we do to help them sell or purchase homes in today’s real estate market.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
First and foremost, my wife, Yvette Kendrick. She has been my biggest cheerleader every step of the way. I would not be where I am today with her love and support. Gordon and Betty Harper, my first brokers, helped me launch into real estate. Had it not been for their encouragement, I would still be teaching. Rich Carpenteiri is my mentor that ultimately changed the path of my life, as well as my boys. He recruited me to come to Keller Williams. He truly believed in my potential and still pours into me to this day. Others that have had a pivotal role in my growth are Dave Chubb, Murray Coleman, Debbie Irons and Richard Aybar.
