Meet Natasha Vega of Vega Spa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Vega.

Hi Natasha, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I would like to say that my massage journey is deeply rooted in my culture. Massage is a basic necessity for our newborns and new mothers and a way of health investment for our body. I do know for sure that my journey personally started when my mother started going to the gym to start her fitness journey. When we migrated to the USA, she gained a lot of weight, mostly from fast food and from having two babies. At the gym, she won a massage giveaway, and from then on, she would urge me to become a massage therapist!

At the age of 18, I was grossed out of the idea of massaging anyone! At the age of 19, I became a mom and would find myself massaging my newborn for his tummy aches or just to soothe him. Connecting back to my roots was something that felt safe when becoming a new mother. I found myself also massaging my husband’s lower back from pain as well. I decided that I would pursue massage therapy schooling to find out if it was the right fit for me. As it turns out, it definitely was!

My esthetician journey started in my teen years. I suffered greatly from acne and hyperpigmentation! The passion that I have to take great care of my skin is the same passion I feel for my clients; I know how it feels to only see the acne or dark marks on our skin. I love that I can help guide my clients to the best skincare for their skin!

Becoming my own boss is a journey that I am still learning from. My goal is to show the world that anyone can choose self-care. Everyone can benefit from massage and facial treatments! At my space, my clients value their time to either take a nap or vent a bit. I encourage graceful aging and learn what products are best for my client’s skin. My space is a safe space for my clients to invest into themselves.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I decided to start my business in March 2020. Two weeks later, I was forced to shut down because of Covid-19. That was the most depressing time of my business.

The good thing was that everyone was giving free education on spa services and more! I took this time off to invest into my business and to also take a staycation!

I’ve learned that growing is essential to my business. I took time to heal personally so I would grow my business. I feel like both goes hand and hand when we run our own solo business. For example, networking is something that scared me! Learning to be genuinely kind to others and learn about their passion was how I overcame the idea of networking.

As you know, we’re big fans of Vega Spa, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
I offer massage and facial treatments. My favorite massage modality is hot stones. I love how the hot stones just melt away tension in tensed muscles. The stones are only warm enough so that I can handle them. If you have headaches and/or sciatica pain, then I can help to relieve it! My favorite facial would be my Glowing Goddess Level 3 Facial. My clients love to see the vellus hair and dead skin removed from their faces to result in smooth, hydrated skin! This is a favorite for my bride-to-be and anyone that has an event coming up, as it allows their makeup to glide on smoothly! This service will also allow skincare products to deeply penetrate your skin giving the best results possible!

Please look over my menu of services, and if you have any questions, feel free to contact me! I am here to help my clients, and questions are always answered!

What’s next?
One of my biggest goals is to keep finding MY clients. These are clients who are kind, friendly, and just amazing! Most of my regulars are five years or more of trusting me with their self-care needs, and that is just so special to me! I understand that not everyone is for me. My job is to help guide my clients find the best treatment possible. If I cannot help you, I always refer you to someone who can.

I am building my acne Bootcamp services to help anyone who struggles with acne.

I definitely plan to speak more about my piece “Brown Skin Beauty” in “Blooming Through Adversity” by Tiffany Manbodh!
