Meet Rob Chiola

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rob Chiola

Hi Rob, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I always knew I wanted to create and work from behind the camera. I studied Film and cinematology in Orlando and mentored at a local film studio. We worked on many projects, including short films, commercials, corporate videos and live events. One day a friend asked if I could film her wedding. The rest is history. I have been filming weddings full time ever since. Filming weddings is my love. There is nothing like the opportunity to capture one of the most important days in a couple’s life. Weddings are filled with emotions at their highest expression. Being able to capture that for the couple and knowing that they will be able to watch and relive those moments is magical. It is an honor to capture these moments for the start of the couple’s new journey.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Just like any new career, there is a learning curve. Weddings are high intensity and there is only one take. You have to be honed in on your skills and equipment. No two weddings are ever the same. Looking back at my 1st year, I made lots of mistakes. I always try to learn and improve on my mistakes. The wedding industry is very competitive and is oversaturated with “professionals”. It was hard to start from scratch. I had to make new clients, new acquaintances and had to build my reputation from the ground up.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I love capturing love. Being able to capture the most important days for a couple is a huge but exciting responsibility. I pride myself in making sure all the details are captured for my clients so they can relive their day forever. I’m passionate about what I do and it shows in my films.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson is to have fun. Life flies by so quick so it’s important to enjoy it.
