Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Rose.
Hi Chelsea, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am originally from the UK but have lived in Orlando for the past six years. Ever since I got my hands on my first camera, I fell in love with taking photos! I was always and still am, that family member and friend who was documenting and capturing all of the special moments we encounter every single day. A photo brings you back to a memory and for me, that is magic. This is one of the many reasons that sparked the launch of Chelsea Rose Photography. I earned my degree in Events Management in England and my past work history has been in the hospitality and events industry, interacting with families at Disney World and brides at a bridal shop.
All of which made me so happy, however in 2019, I had the opportunity to pursue my dream of becoming a professional photographer and I am so glad I took that leap. Chelsea Rose Photography fits hand in hand with my passion of capturing magic through my images while providing that hospitable customer service to my clients before, during, and after their sessions. I did many hours and long days of research and training before my dream became a reality and I have not looked back since. I specialize in maternity, newborn, couples and individual portraits. It has always been a dream of mine to pursue photography and I am now capturing precious milestones in people’s lives, nothing brings me more joy!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I always say life is a rollercoaster with lots of ups and downs and that is what makes it exciting! My road leading me to where I am now has definitely had some bumps and stop signs along the way! Starting my own business was something I had to really evaluate and invest in. I use to suffer with imposter syndrome and still do sometimes, however I am always learning and developing and that is what helps me grow! It is important to remember that everyone has their own path and that you are not going to be everyone’s cup of tea (as we say in the UK haha) and that is ok! It isn’t a race, it is about enjoying the journey along the way!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am my client’s number one cheerleader and making them feel comfortable in front of the lens is a priority to me! I like to get to know my families and couples before the shoot and offer optional wardrobe consultations. I want to create magic in their images, so they can look back on them and adore them for years! My packages are themed around my British heritage/sayings just for fun and to allow my clients to get to know me better along the way also. My “Practically Perfect Package” is my most popular package for families and couples!
I also offer a session called the “Well Chuffed Package” which is for clients that are wanting a more simple/shorter photoshoot, all of the details of what they include are on my website. “The Jolly Baby Bundle” is for expecting mamas and is a great way to bundle and save, it includes a maternity shoot, newborn lifestyle session and one year old cake smash with options to add on a gender reveal/pregnancy announcement and a six month old milestone session! I love this package the most because I get to grow with the family and they really get to know me as their photographer and friend. Building that relationship and trust with all my clients is so important, they therefore can use me for all their photography needs!
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck has a way of dealing a tricky hand to good people. I feel so much for small business owners who have had to close their doors and who’s passions and dreams have been affected because of the pandemic. Through all of this, I feel extremely lucky that my my family is healthy, I have a roof over my head, and I get to continue to safely document people’s special memories and milestones. Pursuing my degree in Events led me to America, where I did various contracts working for the Walt Disney Company. I felt so lucky every time I was accepted on an international program, because they can be quite competitive in the UK and it has now lead to me to where I am now in life! I had never been out of my hometown in England for longer than two weeks. Moving my whole life across an ocean and working in a different country is when I gained my confidence to pursue my dreams. Hospitality and Events is a competitive industry and they are, and forever will be, passions of mine. I do think a mixture of bad and good luck has pushed me into where I am today and I would not have it any other way!
