Today we’d like to introduce you to Gregory Meeks.
Hi Gregory, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I always wanted to start a business. I always wanted to be an entrepreneur in some way shape of form. My family has multiple successful entrepreneurs stemming from private business consultants, owning hair salons and owning rental properties.
This is where the initial drive came from. I have two good friends in Georgia who own a soap business named HerbnEden and they were the ones who helped guide me into the soap business.
Once I received the initial guidance into the soap business that’s when the research started. All day and night, I was researching about soap making and the different methods of soap making. I wanted my products to be plant-based and organic. Our skin is the largest organ of the body and wanted to make sure I made a product that could really help our skin. I researched the best oils for the body and the face and which essential oils were good for the body and essential oils that are great when blended together.
One of my main purposes was to establish generational wealth for my seeds to come and be independent on self and be able to employ the community that supports the business.
I am located in Orlando, Florida and as of right now, it’s a home ran business that operates online and I also attend farmer’s markets and popup shops.
Business is going well and I continually look for ways to grow and expand the business.
I personally hand-make all of our products so all of our products are made with love. I genuinely have a great passion for the community and I will try my hardest I can produce the best products available.
Eventually, I would like to run my business full time and focus on my other investments. That’s the end game for me as of right now.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Yes and no lol. Before a single scent was made 6,000 dollars had to be invested into the business to get all the supplies and get the business started.
Some months are great and some months are not so great but that’s the cost of doing business.
At times it can be overwhelming due to the manpower but it’s all well worth it at the end of the day.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a career, I am a firefighter. Been a firefighter since 2008 and became a firefighter in Central Florida since 2012. I am a firefighter Paramedic to be exact.
I am proud that I have stayed disciplined in my goals I have set to achieve in life and during the whole process giving GOD all the glory.
What sets me apart from others is that I am a very vocal person and I am not intimidated easily. If I have a passion and vision I will see it through.
How do you think about happiness?
Serving the Almighty, being able to take care of my family and being able to teach my family.
As a man, it’s a great feeling to know my family is set and that I am leaving a legacy for my seed(s) to come.
