Rising Stars: Meet Mandy and Corban Young

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mandy and Corban Young. They and their team share their story with us below:

We started Love and Lustre Weddings together in 2014 – a few months before we even got married!

Corban had been doing photo and video work since he was a teenager, and he became involved in the Orlando wedding industry as a second shooter for a local photographer. That is, until a last-minute wedding he was supposed to assist with announced they were in dire need of a videographer. Corban stepped in and brought Mandy along for support…and Mandy HATED IT. She had never worked a wedding and was WAY out of her comfort zone. But then…

Mandy was introduced to the editing process. She fell in love with the real-life storytelling aspect of weddings and almost immediately stepped in as primary editor for every subsequent wedding. Over the years, she has grown to enjoy and excel at the cinematography aspect of weddings. Now she and Corban work together as a team both behind the cameras and in the office!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No business succeeds without some blood, sweat, and tears along the way. As Love and Lustre Weddings grew, we each struggled to balance our own full-time jobs until business was stable enough to rely on as a sole source of income for us both. We quit our day jobs one at a time – Corban about a year before Mandy. It was a big leap of faith, but it worked! We have both been full-time, self-employed videographers for nearly five years now.

As a married couple running a business together, we also went through the process of clearly defining our own individual roles within the company. Corban is in charge of logistics, data management, gear maintenance, drone work, and client communications for our fast-growing commercial brand. Mandy continues to be the primary editor for both weddings and commercial projects and is also in charge of our websites and branding. We both work together creatively on shoots to maintain a cohesive vision and client experience!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We are small business owners of a production company known as Young Visuals, LLC, which serves as the umbrella for our well-known wedding brand, Love and Lustre Weddings.

On the wedding side, we specialize in cinematic, short-form highlight films that tell the story of a wedding day in an emotional and impactful way. We love capturing little meaningful moments throughout the day – mom crying, the grooms face the first time he sees his bride, the newlyweds triumphantly entering the reception as a married couple – and preserving them for a lifetime. We’re known for delivering high-quality work, our professionalism and reliability, and our teamwork-focused mindset on wedding days. As with any art, every videographer has a unique vision and stylistic feel, and ours is what sets us apart! We like real, candid moments, rich color, and high emotional impact in our films. Wedding days are one of the most special days in a person’s life. We want to be able to re-create some of the feelings our clients experience through something they can look back on forever!

We are proud of how far we’ve come as a company. We’ve worked hard to get to where we are today and are still growing and improving all the time. We’re excited to continue to grow the commercial side of our business as we take on more and more corporate work!

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
As a business owner, you wear many hats, and you NEVER stop learning. There is always room to be better, especially in a creative industry where everything is very subjective. There is no such thing as a perfect business. All we can do is buckle in for the ride and do our best every day!

  • Our wedding highlight film packages start around $2000-2500.
