Rising Stars: Meet Megan + Cait [Woven + Revel]

Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan + Cait [Woven + Revel]

Cait and Meg didn’t meet in the most conventional way, but neither is the ideology of W+R, so we suppose it’s only fitting. We actually met while Meg was searching for her wedding dress and Cait got paired as her stylist! We hit it off immediately! After chatting for a while, we realized we both had extensive backgrounds in event design + coordinating and had both dreamed of one day owning our own business. After some serious pep talk + will-power, the two joined long-lost sisterly forces and realized their pipe dream was finally coming to fruition. Woven + Revel was born.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Truthfully, no. We started Woven + Revel in the late summer of 2019 and as most small business owners know, it takes a bit of time to really get your name out there and start booking clients. We started getting more and more traction in late 2019 and then 2020 came in like a wrecking ball. I don’t think there has been one person in the events industry that hasn’t been affected by this pandemic. It’s definitely been a challenging year to be small business owners, but if anything, it made us that much more appreciative of our clients and the events we were able to design + execute this year.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We love to consider ourselves extremely type A, but we both also have a very creative side. We design + coordinate events of all types. Whether that is a birthday party, a wedding or an anniversary dinner, if there is an event someone has in mind, we can execute it. We love the design aspect as we can really come in and make your event unique and true to you. Sometimes our clients have an idea or vision but aren’t sure how to bring it all together and that’s where we come in. Our type A side makes us very good at our job because we are extremely organized by nature and in this field, you have to be! What sets us apart would be how much energy and heart we put into each event. You spend a lot of time with your clients and they truly become like friends to you – we want to give each of them the very best event each time.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
For sure you have to be organized, creative and responsive. But more than that, I think you have to be caring. Most of our events are weddings and to each client, this is the biggest day of their lives. They need to know that you are in their corner and have their back. They need you to not only know their day backward and forwards, but they need you to also be a support to them. It is underrated but has a huge impact on your overall success.
