Rising Stars: Meet Peter Perez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Peter Perez.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We are Peter & Lucy! Our history in Orlando, Florida begins four years ago when after Hurricane Maria passed through Puerto Rico we decided to move to this state. In Puerto Rico, we left our family and friends the most of our belongings were damaged so it was easier to make the decision to move to Florida. With the support of a relative and a friend, we arrived here, we spent two weeks in the house of a relative and eight months living in a hotel. During that time, I started my photography studies at the New York Institute of Photography. I started studying English and I also started working for a recognized technology brand.

By 2019, I had graduated and got my diploma as a professional photographer. I knew I wanted to be a photographer but I couldn’t find what kind of photography I wanted to do. I tried all kinds of photography until one day, I was asked to do a project for the class where I made my first Boudoir photography. My first model was my wife Lucy. She is for me, the most beautiful women and my favorite model. She always supports me in every idea that comes to mind and we will turn soon 16 years together. She is the one who helps me with girls poses’ and brings support that makes them feel comfortable. We started our brand Boudoir Art by Peter two years ago and just when we launched it, Covid started. In that process, we were buying our house where it would also be our studio, so we put the photography brand on pause as the construction was finished. Finally, we move to our new place and prepare a comfortable and welcoming place for our beauties, accompanied by an experience that pampers and transforms them.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think nothing that worth the effort is easy. For us Covid has been a challenge. We have paused the business twice, the first time for prevention and the second because I was hospitalized and almost lost my life due to Covid. But we cannot stop, I love what I do and now I value more what I took for granted before, and I seek to live from what I am passionate about with a balance of time to enjoy my family while adding value to the lives of my customers.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As my credo said “I am a photographer for the woman who wants to be her own muse. For the innovative, bold, confident and inspiring woman. I am a photographer for the powerful woman who wants to be unforgettable for herself. The woman who is her own muse doesn’t wait for anyone’s approval. She knows what she wants and pursue it. I am a photographer for the woman who is true to herself, for the woman who doesn’t allow anyone mark her steps. I’m photographer for the woman who values her virtues and takes care of herself. I’m photographer for the woman who wants to capture all this in images for life”.

I specialize in boudoir photography, glamor photography and I’m getting into fashion photography. I really love this type of intimate photography. I am very proud to see the women reaction when they go through the experience of seeing their photos and how their confidence in themselves is transformed for good.
