Exploring Life & Business with Steven Rehrig of Bibe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Steven Rehrig

Hi Steven, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m Steven, the founder of Bibe. The idea came to me one night in Miami when I spent over 30 minutes waiting for a drink at a crowded bar. I thought, “There has to be a better way,” and that inspired me to create Bibe — an app that lets people order drinks from their phones and skip the lines.

We’re still in the early stages, but we’ve already launched at a few venues and seen great results. It’s been exciting to see the potential of this idea come to life, and we’re just getting started. There’s a lot more we want to do to change the way people experience hospitality.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Truthfully, this has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done. The road has been far from smooth, and every step has come with its own set of challenges. Building Bibe has required tackling everything from designing and developing the product to securing partnerships, raising capital, and finding the right talent. Each area presents unique obstacles, and there’s no clear roadmap, so you’re constantly figuring it out as you go.

One of the biggest challenges has been finding our true product-market fit. We’re in a constant cycle of testing — launching in different areas, gathering feedback, analyzing how it performs, and then going back to upgrade the product based on what we’ve learned. Every venue operates differently, and what works in one place doesn’t always translate to another, so it takes a lot of effort to adapt.

It’s a tough and ongoing process, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. Each challenge forces us to grow, think creatively, and improve. Every piece of feedback and iteration brings us closer to building a product that truly fits the needs of the hospitality industry. While the road hasn’t been easy, I know that pushing through these obstacles is what will set us up for long-term success.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Bibe?
Bibe is a mobile ordering platform designed to revolutionize the hospitality industry by giving customers their time back and helping venues streamline their operations. We specialize in enabling customers to order drinks, food, or other items directly from their phones at bars, clubs, food trucks, mobile bars, and even resorts. Customers can skip long lines, enjoy their time with friends, and receive notifications when their order is ready for pickup — it’s all about convenience and efficiency.

What sets Bibe apart is that it’s completely free for venues. We generate revenue through a small convenience fee charged to the customer, which covers costs like transaction fees. Unlike traditional POS systems, Bibe doesn’t require any hardware — just an internet-connected device — and it’s incredibly easy to use for both venues and their patrons.

We’re proud to be creating a product that improves the guest experience while also driving more revenue for venues. One of the things that stand out about Bibe is our focus on adaptability. We’re not just a tool for one type of venue; we’re building a solution that works across the entire hospitality ecosystem, from nightlife to mobile food services.

Brand-wise, we’re most proud of how we’re making hospitality more efficient and enjoyable. We want readers to know that Bibe isn’t just a convenience tool — it’s a platform built to enhance the way people experience events, nights out, or casual gatherings at their favorite spots. Our goal is to give customers more time to enjoy the moment while helping venues run smoother and make more money. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I believe taking risks is what sets you apart and creates opportunities for growth. For me, risk-taking is essential, but it has to be calculated. Without risks, you can’t move forward or discover what’s possible.

One of the biggest risks I’ve ever taken was starting this journey with Bibe. I was still in college, had no money, and had to take out loans to get things off the ground. It was a massive leap of faith, but we’ve made significant progress since then. Seeing the strides we’ve made, I’m confident the risk has been worth it.

Another major risk has been hiring people. In the early stages of a startup, every hire is critical because they shape the culture and values of the company. Bringing someone into such a small team means trusting your gut and being willing to take a chance on people who share your vision. It’s always a calculated risk because if the fit isn’t right, it can affect the entire team dynamic. However, when you find the right people, the rewards far outweigh the risks.

Ultimately, I see risk-taking as necessary for innovation and growth. You have to trust your instincts, learn from the outcomes, and keep pushing forward, knowing that without risk, there’s no reward.
