Conversations with Shaneil Bowling

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaneil Bowling.

Hi Shaneil, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I graduated from The University of Central Florida in 2012 with a degree in Legal studies. After graduating, I decided I no longer wanted to be a lawyer and that I’d stick to doing what made me happy which was hair. I’d been doing hair since I was ten years old and continued all throughout high school and college. Opened up a hair salon in 2014 (Hair Obsessionz) and continued on to starting my own luxury wig and hair extensions company, Grandiose Beauty, in 2021.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t exactly been a smooth road. Entrepreneurship in itself is never quite a smooth road. There will always be challenges, roadblocks, and deterrents. I’ve lost money, opportunities, friends and so much more along the way, but It’s the passion that i have for what I do, and the happiness that I see on my client’s faces that keeps me going!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I do a lot of work with natural hair care, sew-ins, and wigs. I love caring for my client’s natural hair, making sure that it is healthy and well maintained even if they wear it mostly under protective styles. I also specialize is lace closure sew-In installs and wigs that do no involve the use of any hair glues, hair gels, or holding sprays in order for it to look natural. My clients are known for keeping and reusing their hair extensions multiple times over multiple years. Hence, many of my “Ultimate works/full service” videos going viral on Instagram and Facebook and being recognized by Tamar Braxton.

What’s next?
In the future, I’m looking forward to continuous growth in my businesses and expansion! Possibly traveling to different states and other countries, spreading my passion for hair to others!
