Today we’d like to introduce you to Jerod Togger.
Hi Jerod, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my business as a side project in 2018 while working on a church staff full-time. I noticed that many churches and nonprofits needed guidance on integrating technology into their respective areas to help them reach their communities, both locally and globally. That’s where my consulting services come in – I help these organizations find the best options for their needs without breaking their budgets. What products to purchase and what vendors to use, and then help take the lead on the projects so they don’t have to have all the back and forth between a vendor and myself.
In 2020, I decided to take a leap of faith and go into business full-time. I’ve been fortunate to work with some amazing clients all over the U.S. since then.
I offer a range of services including team training, programs, conference planning, and fundraising for impactful organizations. Additionally, I provide strategy development services such as market analysis and strategic planning, Additionally assistance with design and social media management. I specialize in optimizing organizational structures, identifying inefficiencies, and managing strategic initiatives.
My vision is to help churches and nonprofits integrate technology into their businesses while staying within their budgets. I believe that my consulting services can play a vital role in this process.
My mission is to build a relationship with my clients and provide ongoing support. I want to be more than just a consultant – I want to be a friend who knows your family and shares meals at your table. By aligning culture and strategy, I believe that organizations can achieve their goals more effectively. When people understand how their work contributes to the organization’s vision, they are more likely to be invested and engaged in their work.
I focus on delivering high-quality solutions, My heart is to help your organization reach its full potential.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When I started my business, it wasn’t with a flashy launch or a big budget. It was quiet. Intentional. Rooted in a desire to serve. I kept noticing this pattern—churches and nonprofits wanted to use technology to reach people, but they didn’t know where to start, and they definitely didn’t have the budget for big solutions. I just started helping where I could. It wasn’t about building a business at first—it was about meeting a need.
That turned into a side hustle, And yep you guessed it… Starting something on the side meant early mornings, late nights, and a lot of learning on the fly. But the more I did it, the more I realized how much potential there was to serve on a broader scale.
It was definitely a leap of faith. I left a steady paycheck and job security during the pandemic. But I felt strongly that it was time. The need was growing, and I knew I couldn’t keep doing both at the level I wanted. I had to choose—and at the time I was ready for a change, something that would challenge me!
So challenges? All of them! Going from a steady job to running a business full-time meant learning everything—from client acquisition to proposals to taxes. And I had to figure out how to price things in a way that honored tight nonprofit budgets but still allowed me to sustain and grow the business. Plus, doing all of that in the middle of a global crisis just added another layer of complexity. But the perfect time for the growth of a business helping people incorporate streaming media (Audio, and video)
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Our services go beyond just technology now—
I have definitely grown. In addition to tech, I help churches and nonprofits and small to medium-sized businesses alike with leadership training, event organizing, strategic planning, fundraising, and creative services like social media and design. I specialize in optimizing organizational structures and aligning culture with strategy—because when people understand how their work contributes to the bigger picture, they show up differently.
I never wanted to be just another consultant who drops in, gives a plan, and disappears. My goal has always been to build real relationships. I want to be the guy who knows your family, who’s shared a meal at your table. Because if we don’t know each other, we won’t trust each other—and trust is everything in this work.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I get asked a lot about how to find a mentor, I like to say Don’t be weird! like don’t go looking for a mentor—go looking for an authentic friendship type of relationship.
The best mentorships aren’t formed from a formal ask like, “Will you mentor me?” They’re built on shared values, real conversations, and mutual respect. So instead of cold-calling someone you admire look at the people in your life who are already around you, or look at someone you admire and just get to know them over coffee and let it develop organically from there. Be consistent. Mentorship isn’t about one deep coffee chat—it’s about showing up, listening well, and following through. When people see that you’re serious, they’re more likely to invest in you.
You have to add value as well. Ask how you can help them. Mentorship is a two-way street, and generosity goes a long way. You might even need multiple voices speaking into different areas of your life—and that’s normal! Let each person play the role they’re meant to play.
At the end of the day, mentorship is less about finding the perfect life hack or guide and more about becoming someone worth guiding. Show up early, Show up with humility, and stay teachable, and the right person or people will take notice.
