Community Highlights: Meet Genesis Sanhueza of AMERICA FREE MARKET

Today we’d like to introduce you to Genesis Sanhueza.

Hi Genesis, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I arrived in Miami on vacation in 2019. My first job in Miami was cleaning houses, in Chile, I was a healthcare professional, a surgical instrument technician.
I started my business as a personal shopper in August 2020. COVID prevented me from finding a job in the United States, and I had only been in this country from Chile for a year and a half.

I was feeling terribly depressed, I missed my family and friends and I wasn’t able to work at the time. During Covid like most of the world, Chile was on lockdown, my closest friends started asking me for things to send to Chile, and I saw those small favors as a business opportunity. I wrote down on a piece of paper what my new business idea, and that’s exactly what I realized. I had absolutely no idea about anything. Along the way, I learned a lot, and although it’s been a little over four years, I feel like I know a lot about this industry. I never stop learning. I love helping, connecting with clients, watching them grow, and being part of that process. I’ve also experienced some tough times because not all clients have empathy, but they have only been a few, and they can be counted on one hand. It’s minimal, but worth mentioning.
After a while, I started teaching online classes, and now I teach everything about this business and how to export to all of Latin America as a personal shopper, without having to live in the United States.
My business was previously called Miamiiisprings, but I’ve now changed the name to America Free Market.
I changed the name and closed the business for a year to focus on personal things, but now I’m back here to help any entrepreneur eager to grow.

For anyone who believes this is a great business, you can make it happen without a doubt.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road was incredibly difficult: hours and hours of learning, endless walks in malls and stores, driving to and around Orlando, driving back to Miami and to the shipper. the stress of fulfilling agreements, days of sleeplessness. Shopping isn’t just complex, it’s also administrative work, packing the merchandise, carrying heavy loads, and transporting it to the shipping companies, etc.

I had five employees who helped me grow my business and serve my clients.

There were months when we served more than 100 people in a single month.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
America Free Market is a company in the United States that exports top brand products to more than eight Latin American countries. We offer personal shopping services, online shopping, and drop-off service.

We offer online classes, teach the best discount tips in Orlando and Miami, provide contact information for customs brokers, air and maritime transport company names, and provide the best months to travel when stores are offering unique discounts. You can also become a personal shopper to earn extra money when traveling to the United States.

What makes me most proud is having discovered a part of myself that wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for this business. My personal growth and careers have made me a much more confident and happy woman. Thanks to this business, I found a purpose in my life, because being away from everything I love has been the hardest part.

How do you think about luck?
Luck doesn’t exist, because when you walk with God, everything is possible, and having a purpose in your life makes you see that you are capable of achieving anything.
