Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Gillette.
Hi Christopher, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve loved animals my entire life and have dedicated my life to sharing the wonders of these creatures. It’s impossible to condense a lifetime of traveling the world and working with everything from mambas to crocs, but I’ve worked in research, tourism, and now have my own sanctuary where we have over 200 animals!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We initially started as a rescue in south Florida, but making the move six hours north with the animals we had then was very difficult! It took multiple trips back and forth building the new sanctuary up and transporting animals.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We’re very proud of the spacious and gorgeous habitats we’re able to provide for our resident animals. Many of our animals come from abusive or traumatic backgrounds and we are happy to provide peaceful, natural habitats.
What matters most to you?
Doing right by the animals and properly caring for them. We think animals deserve to be treated with love and respect.
