Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Nemecek.
Hi Samantha, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I knew early on that I wanted to be a wedding planner, and I sought after the most well known wedding planner in my town and worked beneath him for about 6 years. After learning everything I possibly could from him, I decided it was time to branch out and start my own wedding planning business. I have since been in business for 3 years now, I have a team of 4 coordinators that work beneath me, and I average 6-8 weddings a month. I am a dedicated wife, mother to 3 young children, and have built a business that allows me to do what I love, while also providing me with the flexibility I need as a mother. I am also the Project Manager for the DeLand and Greater West Volusia Chamber of Commerce, where I do all of the event planning and marketing.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road at all. There is so much to owning a business that no one can prepare you for. I am constantly learning and evolving from every single wedding I do.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I offer custom built rentals, including a custom “infinity wall” that can be customized as a champagne wall, favor wall, cocktail wall, and so much more. I also offer custom signage, seating charts, and rentals. I am working on growing this part of my business and hope to dive deeper before next wedding season.
How do you think about happiness?
Meeting my couples and hearing all about their love story, including how they met and hearing all about their relationship. I am truly honored to be a small part of each other their love stories. The hardest part of my job is saying goodbye after the wedding, because one they are married, they don’t need me anymore!
