Today we’d like to introduce you to Lastree Lemene-Haig.
Hi Lastree, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Well, several years ago, I was navigating life with anxiety, depression, and though I didn’t know it at the time, ADHD too. I didn’t realize that my environment was playing a huge role in how I felt each day. Clutter overwhelmed me, but I hadn’t yet connected just how deeply it affected my mental health.
Then in 2016, I did a minimalism challenge where I started letting go of things I’d held onto for no real reason that had been sitting around untouched for years. That was a subtle but powerful turning point. I felt lighter. I felt better. And for the first time, I started to recognize the connection between physical clutter and mental clutter. So I made it my mission to own less and live more intentionally.
In 2020, after helping a few friends and family members with their spaces, I realized how much I genuinely loved it. It felt natural. And seeing how relieved and happy they were, I felt inspired to pursue this work professionally. With a lot of prayer, faith, and some strong nudging from God, I took the leap and launched Ready Set Declutter.
Today, I work with women, especially those navigating ADHD, anxiety, or just everyday overwhelm, to create homes that feel good to live in. Because when your space is calm, your mind follows.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
To be honest, it’s been smoother in some ways and much harder in others. The organizing itself comes naturally. Helping people transform their homes and their mindset? That part lights me up. But the business side? That’s where the growing pains have been. Learning how to market the business, structure my time, set boundaries, and manage all the behind the scenes admin…none of that came with a manual.
One of the biggest challenges I faced early on was falling into the comparison trap. I was trying to do what other organizers were doing, thinking that was the path to success. But I wasn’t staying true to my own why. Early last year, I took a step back, worked with a mindset coach and an organizing coach, and gave myself space to refocus. That decision changed everything and helped me get clear on who I’m really here to serve. It reminded me that my purpose goes way deeper than just making things look neat.
There have been moments of doubt too. Times when I questioned if I was doing enough, or doing it “right.” But I’ve leaned on my faith, my support system, and a whole lot of trial and error. I’ve had to unlearn the idea that asking for help means weakness. And over time, I’ve become not just a better organizer, but a better business owner too.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Well, let’s see. Ready Set Declutter is a professional organizing company focused on helping women create homes that actually feel good to live in. We offer in-home organizing sessions in the Orlando area, plus virtual support through custom decluttering plans and digital guides. The heart behind everything we create is to make decluttering feel doable, even for the most overwhelmed mind.
What sets me apart is what my clients tell me over and over again: that I’m compassionate, non-judgmental, and that I help them see both themselves and their clutter differently. I don’t just come in and organize for them. Most of my clients and I work side by side. Because long after I leave, I want them to feel confident and empowered to maintain their space in a way that works for them.
Most of my clients have ADHD, and I know firsthand how challenging that can be. So a big part of my work is teaching them to give themselves grace while they’re rebuilding their relationship with their home, their habits, and their stuff. To me, that’s the gift and the work I’m most proud of. Recently one of my clients shared that she felt her mindset about clutter shifting after our first session together. That’s a major win in my book.
Brand wise, I’m most proud that everything I offer, from services to products, is rooted in empathy, faith, and a deep understanding of how hard it can be to let go.
If there’s one thing I want readers to know, it’s this: your home doesn’t have to be a source of stress. At the end of the day, my mission is simple: to help women create homes that feel good to live in. Homes that support them. Homes that offer them relief, not more stress. If I can bring a little more peace into someone’s life through this work, then I’m doing exactly what I was called to do.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are a few ways to work with me or support what I do!
If you’re in the Orlando area, I offer in-home organizing sessions where we work side by side to declutter, reset, and bring peace back into your space.
If you’re not local (or prefer to work at your own pace), I offer custom decluttering plans where you submit photos and videos, and I create a personalized, step-by-step guide just for you. And for those who want a daily nudge, the Daily Dose of Decluttering digital guides are perfect for tackling clutter in 10 minutes or less each day.
For collaborations, whether you’re a therapist, realtor, brand, influencer or fellow small business owner, I’m always open to finding ways we can support each other’s work. Especially if your audience includes women navigating ADHD, mental health, or life transitions. We can always chat and see what makes sense.
And if you just want to support from the sidelines? Share my page with a friend, engage with my content, or grab one of my digital guides. Every little bit helps grow this mission to bring more peace into people’s homes.
