Exploring Life & Business with Annette Leary of Baby Bliss Feeding Collaborative of Central Florida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Annette Leary.

Hi Annette, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Baby Bliss was founded out of a desire to ease the burdens new parents face when navigating postpartum life.

Our three co-founders met while working in the pediatric healthcare industry. We’re all lactation consultants, but each of us brings a different specialty to the table: Sabrina is a doula who helps parents through labor and delivery. Annette is a craniosacral therapist who uses bodywork to relieve tension in patients, both big and small. And Shana is an occupational therapist focused on early intervention. We knew from years of experience that kids who have trouble nursing benefit from an interdisciplinary approach to care. But we also knew that most parents didn’t have a lot of time to run around to multiple appointments a week.

Our solution? Join forces to create a one-stop shop for all your feeding and therapy needs. To us, bliss stands for Bodywork, Lactation, Integrating Sensory, and Support. To our families, it represents finding joy in the small wins each and every day.

We’re therapists, nurses, and internationally board-certified lactation consultants. Most importantly, we’re parents who have experienced some of the same challenges as our clients. We don’t just bring our professional expertise to work but also a healthy dose of compassion and empathy.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There have not been many struggles. Our first office was 800 squ feet and we quickly out grew that by the 2 nd month. Our community gravitated to our services. We had to be patient and wait almost 18 months for our new office of over 2,200 squ ft to be built out.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We’re therapists, nurses, and internationally board-certified lactation consultants. Most importantly, we’re parents who have experienced some of the same challenges as our clients. We don’t just bring our professional expertise to work but also a healthy dose of compassion and empathy. We are able to accept some insurance companies for payment. We also offer a collaborative treatment approach with a plan of care that parents learn how to help their babies and children at home.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
All three of us worked at a large hospital in the community that helped us build our collective 50 years of patient care experience This helped us realize what was needed for these families in the community in calming and blissful office space
