Exploring Life & Business with Sarah Geha of Sarah Geha Wellness and Nutrition

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Geha.

Hi Sarah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
For more than 20 years I worked in the information technology sector. I began my career as an IT consultant in Manhattan and relocated to the Orlando area in the early 2000s. Even though I was young and maintained a healthy weight, I still struggled with many health problems. I had allergies, chronic headaches and migraines, back pain, irregular menses, chronic fatigue, and hypoglycemia. I often worked 60 hours a week, I didn’t sleep enough, and I lived on a diet of microwaved food and coffee. Yet I couldn’t understand why I felt so terrible all of the time, and my traditional PCP wasn’t giving me any answers. I finally discovered the concept of functional medicine, and it opened my eyes to the beauty of looking for the “root cause” of health issues. My life was forever changed! I quit my job at 40 years old and got a Masters in Nutrition and Integrative Health. I worked in a functional doctor’s office for two years before I started my own functional nutrition practice, and in my years of learning and practicing what I preach I have healed all of my prior health problems! Migraines, gone! Body aches, gone! Allergies, blood sugar problems, hormonal dysregulation, fatigue… all a thing of the past! I feel better at 50 than I did at 30, and I’m passionate about helping my clients achieve the same results and find a level of wellbeing they might never have imagined.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Believe it or not, once I got my Masters degree everything else really started to fall into place. I found a wonderful internship with a brilliant doctor, and while going off to start my own practice was intimidating, it was also fulfilling and inspiring.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I practice “functional nutrition”, which focuses on finding the root causes of symptoms in the body and learning how to help the body heal itself. Rather than masking symptoms with medications, we learn what is making the body react this way and deal with the source of the problems. For example, if you have chronic headaches, let’s not just start you on pain medication. Let’s look at your hydration level, your caffeine or alcohol intake, food sensitivities, sleep quality, toxin exposure, stress management, etc. I am very proud of my deep level of education and experience around the concepts of functional nutrition, but I am perhaps most proud of the amount of effort and caring I put into each and every client I work with. When I work with a client it is a true partnership, and I do everything I can to support healing and be there for my clients in every way I can.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I have several types of service available to my clients. Most clients book one-on-one nutrition consultations with me, so we can do a deep dive into their symptoms and root causes. I also offer grocery shopping tours, in-home toxin consultations, personal care product overhauls, group education classes, public speaking services and consultations for sleep issues. If anyone is interested in working with me in any capacity, they can book a free 20 minute phone consultation with me by going to my website and selecting an available time.
