Today we’d like to introduce you to Lena Wilson.
Hi Lena, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
For 25 years, I dedicated my career to Human Resources, where I had the privilege of coaching managers and employees through various professional challenges and growth opportunities. My role in HR allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the complexities and nuances of workplace dynamics, career development, and personal growth.
Through these experiences, I discovered my passion for helping individuals navigate their career paths and achieve their full potential. This passion naturally led me to transition coaching, where I now focus on guiding seasoned professionals through periods of significant change.
While I was thriving professionally, there came a quiet, persistent nudge that there was more; more purpose, more impact, more alignment with how I was truly meant to serve.
Over the years, I’ve experienced my fair share of significant life transitions; including a layoff, a divorce, losing both my parents to cancer, and a bold pivot from Corporate America to full-time entrepreneurship. Each moment tested my faith, but also became the foundation for my purpose.
I founded Real Inspiration LLC in 2019 while I was still in my corporate role. Today I serve as a Transition Coach where I help midlife professionals navigate defining crossroads with confidence and clarity. I created The Transition Blueprint™, my signature coaching framework designed to support individuals and organizations through the process of change.
Today, I’m a 3x author, international speaker, facilitator, community navigator, and a trusted transition coach walking alongside midlife women, professionals, and leaders, as they face significant workplace and personal changes.
What’s unique is that I don’t just teach this work, I also live it through my own life experiences.
My journey is proof that even after life has shaken you to the core, you can rebound with confidence, boldness and purpose and it is never too late to become who you were always meant to be.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not always been smooth, but it’s been worth it. The toughest moments were often the ones that propelled me into deeper growth and evolution.
When I first retired from my corporate role in 2024, the leap was both exciting and scary. I have built a solid HR career for over two decades, and leaving that stability meant stepping into the unknown. There was uncertainty and moments of self-doubt, wondering if I was truly equipped to run a business full-time. I had to get comfortable with the discomfort of this new chapter in my story. There were other moments over the years, when I questioned my own worth, especially during the hard seasons like my divorce and the layoff I experienced, that subsequently led to a relocation to another state for a new role.
But every struggle led to another level of transformation. It wasn’t just about surviving; it was about thriving in spite of the challenges. The hardest seasons taught me resilience and deepened my faith. I’ve learned that every struggle is part of my bigger story on the path to fulfilling my God-assigned purpose.
I’m proud of how I’ve navigated those transitions, and I now teach others to do the same, no matter how daunting it feels. The bumps, the twists, the unexpected turns are all part of the transformation that leads to something more beautiful than I could have imagined. I am immensely grateful,
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Real Inspiration LLC is a transition coaching and consulting company that helps individuals and organizations navigate change with clarity, confidence, and strategy.
I specialize in guiding midlife women and seasoned professionals through life’s defining crossroads; whether it’s a career shift, caregiving for an ailing parent, divorce, empty nesting, or simply that quiet knowing that it’s time for a new chapter.
Through my signature framework, The Transition Blueprint™, I provide coaching that goes deeper than surface-level motivation. I address the real fears, the emotional toll, and the mindset shifts needed to move from uncertainty to strategic action.
For organizations, I deliver workshops, keynotes, and coaching that center around change management, psychological safety, and employee resilience, especially during seasons of disruption or reorganization.
I am most proud of the safe and transformational spaces I create where people feel seen, supported, and equipped to grow.
What sets my brand apart is the blend of strategy and soul. With 25 years in corporate HR and decades of lived experience navigating major life transitions myself, I bring not only professional insight with proven results, but real compassion and empathy as well.
This work isn’t just theory for me. It’s personal. It’s purposeful. And it’s rooted in faith and a commitment to serve every client with excellence.
Whether through 1:1 or group coaching, leading my Bold & Becoming Collective for Midlife Women, or speaking to audiences, I help people turn transitions into transformational moments.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I believe mentorship and meaningful connections have been absolutely instrumental in both my personal growth and professional journey.
My advice would be to remain intellectually curious and be willing to ask for guidance. Some of the most impactful mentors in my life came from moments where I simply reached out, shared my heart, and asked for wisdom. Don’t be afraid to connect with someone whose journey inspires you. Before reaching out to a potential mentor, take the time to genuinely learn about their journey, work, and values. Doing your homework shows respect and honors their expertise.
When it comes to networking, whether it’s conferences, online communities, or intentional coffee chats, I try to lead with a genuine interest to build a relationship, instead of trying to focus on my own agenda.
At the end of the day, mentorship and networking are about alignment, not just access. Surround yourself with people who see you, stretch you, and speak life into your journey.
I’ve also learned that serving others before you need them, can be one of the most powerful and beautiful ways to secure a mentor.
