Community Highlights: Meet Valeria Vasilchenko of VASkincarewinterpark

Today we’d like to introduce you to Valeria Vasilchenko.

Hi Valeria, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in Norway, where life was simple and full of nature — horses, mountains, and ballet classes filled my days. Movement was my first language, and that love eventually brought me to Miami, where I built a career as a professional ballroom dancer — trading snow for sunshine and rhythm.

As I was dancing, I found myself falling in love with something unexpected: skincare. I became a licensed esthetician and spent years in Miami helping people feel good in their skin. There was something so fulfilling about making someone feel seen, cared for, and confident — it lit up a whole new side of me.

After many years in the Miami scene, I felt a shift. I was craving more balance, a slower pace, and the chance to create something truly my own. That’s when I made the decision to relocate to Orlando and open VASkincare — with no clients, no network, just a deep belief in my craft and a vision that felt bigger than fear.

It’s been a journey full of risks, growth, and a lot of heart. Today, I still dance, I run a business I’m proud of, and I make time for the people and passions that ground me. It hasn’t been easy — but it’s been meaningful every step of the way.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges I faced was switching careers. Leaving behind the world of professional ballroom dance — something I had trained in for years — to pursue skincare felt like starting from scratch. But deep down, I knew I had found something I was truly passionate about, and I chose to trust that inner pull, even when the path ahead wasn’t clear.

Another major leap was relocating from Miami to Winter Park. Starting over in a brand new city, with no local clientele and no established network, was daunting — especially as a mom. But I wasn’t afraid to take the risk. I believed in my vision and followed my gut, even when it meant rebuilding everything from the ground up.

There were moments of doubt, of course, but every obstacle pushed me to grow — not just as a business owner, but as a woman, a mother, and a creative. I’ve learned that sometimes the biggest breakthroughs come from the boldest moves.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
VASkincare specializes in customized, results-driven facials that are rooted in intention and care. Every treatment is tailored to the individual — whether it’s restoring balance, targeting acne, lifting and toning, or simply offering deep relaxation. I blend advanced techniques like microcurrent, microneedling, and LED therapy with a personalized approach that makes each client feel truly seen.

What I’m most proud of is the experience I’ve created. VASkincare isn’t a “one-size-fits-all” facial studio — it’s a space where luxury meets warmth, where skin is cared for holistically, and where clients can unplug, unwind, and leave feeling genuinely radiant.

Clients often say they come for the glow, but stay for the connection. I’ve built a brand that reflects who I am — detail-oriented, intentional, and passionate about helping people feel confident in their skin.

What I want readers to know is that VASkincare is more than just skincare — it’s an experience. Whether you’re new to facials or looking for an expert you can trust with your long-term skin journey, my door is open. I’m here to guide, support, and glow with you every step of the way.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Without a doubt, my clients deserve so much of the credit. Many of them have become like family — showing up for me not just as customers, but as supporters, cheerleaders, and genuine believers in what I do.

Starting a business in a new city is never easy, but the way my clients welcomed me, trusted me with their skin, and kept coming back (often bringing friends and loved ones with them) has meant the world. Their loyalty, their word-of-mouth, their encouragement on the hard days — it’s what kept me going.

They’ve helped shape VASkincare into what it is today: a space built on trust, care, and community. I may be the one creating the treatments, but it’s the relationships I’ve built with my clients that have truly brought this brand to life.
